Goodbye winter

Although it is already spring on the calendar, the weather is not bothered by it, instead it is gray and inhospitable.

A day to come and have a look in my sample bag.

I resolve to wear whatever I get my hands on.
Fragrance roulette, so to speak.

I close my eyes and reach for it.

When I open my eyes, I'm struck by a purple-colored package - a shade I like.
And the scent is also cheerfully colorful.
Fresh, fruity notes greet me, combined with flowers and ending in soft cedar.
There is also a hint of sweetness.

The right fragrance to cheer you up.

I look out into my garden and see rows of bright yellow daffodils.

A sign of winter goodbye.

A juice box made with pears and plums!

I overlooked this fragrance during the better part of my journey in favour of other brands, but thanks to my boyfriend, I discovered this line at Sephora and I am pleasantly surprised by this one. Currently on a quest to find the best fruity / floral perfumes to add to my collection because the warmer days are coming, I wasn't expecting my boyfriend to point out this bottle at a Sephora. At first sniff he fell in love and I followed shortly after.

It's a nice sweet pear opening (very different from the pear note I smelled in Vanilla Woods Eau de Parfum . This one is fruity, juicy and sweet. I almost felt like I was sniffing pear nectar or a fruity juice box. The citrus in the opening further enhances the sweetness and juiciness of it all. It's very uplifting and is giving me playfulness. It's followed by a nice round plum note that gives everything a more earthy, tart aspect and a sweet, jammy rose. I'm guessing the last one comes from the Pomarose note. I was a bit cautious when I saw there were a lot of synthetic notes but it's pretty subtle. The accords are almost photorealistic which makes this perfume even more stunning. The drydown becomes this almost warm, woody and fresh scent with hints of cedar. This fragrance is very well-blended and flows quite effortlessly on my skin. It's giving soothing, but uplifting. Inoffensive to wear any day and anytime.

I'm pretty happy I discovered this perfume; a reminder that perfumes should not be overlooked even though you don't think it will fit you. I'm quite curious to test out the other perfumes in this line and see if they're as good as this one. A nice fruity floral perfume for when you want to feel this uplifting zesty energy during the warmer and colder weather. A nice pick-me up!

What a pear

Dylan purple by Versace is the latest flanker of the Dylan line. It’s a fruity floral fresh scent with a stunning pear opening. The fruitiness stays but gets smoothed out by florals and smooth smelling molecules. It’s long lasting and projecting, especially on clothes.

It smells like a fruitpunch without being overly sweet. The pear comes out pleasantly as the most dominant note. The smell reminds me of waking up in the moring on days off. What kills this fragrance is the longevity. It does not last on skin or fabric. I can barely smell it after 2 hours and after 4 its completely gone.

Pear shampoo and unremarkable florals

Like all the Versace Dylan fragrances for women, this is a fresh, fruity-floral shampoo kind of scent. This time, pear is the star of the show. The opening is the best part of the fragrance. It smells a bit like classic green apple shampoo, but warmer, sweeter and juicier, because it's pear and not apple. Nice! But then it slowly turns into a more generic fruity and floral scent. Watery florals that could be freesia, sweet fruitiness, a vaguely musky base, but nothing is very clearly defined.

Despite all the chemical-sounding listed notes, this doesn't have that "molecule fragrance" feel. It smells synthetic in the way that clean scents usually do, but not overwhelmingly so.

It's fine. I like it better than Dylan Blue. But it's really not a standout and not especially purple smelling.
