Without mints, you're my princess!
Dear Polly..
first of all, I must apologize to you. In my last letter I wrote that you always smell a bit like mint, but that was a mistake and I am sorry. In the meantime I assume that only your coat, which you have always worn with me in the last years, must have somehow come in contact with mint. In the meantime you were dressed differently and there was no mention of mint. How one can be fooled by something like that!
I know that in my last letter I also wrote that you were impressive, but I could not imagine that our friendship would last. That was even more wrong. Please forget that! We have got to know each other again intensively and especially without the mint coat.
Maybe I was just a little overexcited after our family meeting with your cousin (keyword: Do not Disturb - you remember), especially since she really has what it takes to always be the shining star of the evening.
I really have to apologize and I want to assure you, only you out of the whole family mean as much to me as they do!

By the way, our family reunion kept me busy for quite some time and even though it really didn't have to be the 125th floor with the flowers and the room service did honor its name but still seemed quite artificial, it was very exciting to meet the old depressive aunts Fleur B. and Moon C. again. They haven't changed and you have to be careful that they don't drag you down with them. After all, it would be a depression with style, but I don't have to have that. Our darling Nikki, on the other hand, although he's the same age, can really build you up. What a crazy family we have! It's a pity that the Berlin poets were not there this time, it's been years since I last met them, and I don't know at all whether I still remember them correctly.

But back to you. I have to think about you every day now and I keep putting on your scent. I have heard that your husband created it in your honor, because you still like to drink black tea for breakfast in the morning. He said that he also tried to express your optimism with apple and bergamot. I think he succeeded very well! He also did a great job of keeping the balance between freshness and depth. This is really a tribute to your character! I can hardly smell the apples, but the cheerfulness comes over me and I have to think of all the pots of Earl Grey tea that we emptied together in our puberty. Do you remember your attempt to create your own mixture of Earl Grey and Lapsang Souchong? Wasn't it three parts Earl Grey, on one Lapsang Souchong? We just poured the bags from the tea shop together. Anyway, since then we only drank "Polly's Early Smoky", without sugar of course, but you sometimes added some cream, as I remember. That was a great time!
By the way, in his tribute your husband also did a good job with the body lotion, the yellow one you have been wearing for years. This slightly creamy, extraordinary and after a while a hint of your body smell - that's you, how you live and live.

Please don't take offense at my thoughtless line at the family reunion.
But please take the mint coat to the cleaners
Your cousin and girlfriend

A Polly scent? Yes!
Dear team from Vilhelm Parfumerie,

recently I discovered this fragrance here on Parfumo and was curious. Dear Polly. A scent like my perfume name? That sounded exciting. OK, you probably weren't thinking of chicken, given the beautiful scent, but let's not go there
Ceylon tea. Next catch phrase that makes my ears prick up. Next to Assam, my favorite flavor of black tea. While Guerlain and all the others rely on Earl Grey, who, I confess, often tastes a bit too strictly perfumed, you have Ceylon. But then what does bergamot do in the top note, which in turn suggests Earl Grey?

It was necessary to discover this mystery Polly. And, yes, it's definitely a scent to me. I don't notice much of the begamotte, but I can spot the apples immediately. They are here, unlike many fragrances with this note, but not sweet, which I like very much. As soon as the apple scent becomes too sweet, I think of artificially scented apple shampoo and I'm out. The teen note is really, really wonderful. Even though I also like Guerlain's Neroli Outrenoir (despite the Earl Grey), we have a darker and spicier teen note here that I really like. In the background I perceive wood tones and sweet myrrh in addition to amber. Maybe my impression of Opoponax is due to the musk, which also has a certain sweetness to it All in all Polly's scent is very round and beautiful and, like many of my favourites, rather a quieter lady. Whereby I do not see the scent, contrary to your guidelines, only on the female sex. On the contrary. While I, I would have to decide now, I wanted to wear a fragrance of this direction, rather to my Farmacia SS. Annunziatas 450 or Lye by Gabriella Chieffo, I can imagine the dear Polly also on male skin very well
In the base Dear Polly comes up with a fragrance combination that reminds me of something dusty, even smoky. And this is probably the reason why I'm guessing on myrrh, which leaves such scent impressions on me every now and then. A similar note - only much stronger - I noticed for example in Memoirs of a Trespasser by Imaginary Authors.

This tiny little bulkiness does not hurt the fragrance at all. For my nose, it stays wonderful. If I didn't already own the above mentioned, it might even enrich my collection. All in all a big praise from me to your team, because it is definitely a Polly scent you have served there.

Cordially
Your Pollita

P.S.: Of course, the thank you goes first and foremost to you, dear perfumers. Thanks to you I was allowed to get to know Polly.

An everyday declaration of love
- Emotional impression -
Polly is a companion who is close, holds on securely and gives a better feeling.
Radiates a brighter light.
Upgraded.
From the first sprayer on it belongs and is familiar.
Playful and durable at the same time.
Indescribable in benevolence.
Enriching everyday life.
Continuously warm, fresh, secure and cheerful.

- The scent -
The sensory character is characterized by sweet-spicy tea of varying degrees of tenderness and various accompanying notes.
The prelude starts with fruity, citrusy, appley TEE.
In the course of time, spicy green, sweetish TEE follows.
The rest of the day remains a balsamic, sweet, attractive TEE.

- Shelf life & Sillage -
Since Polly accompanies close to the body, the Sillage is rather mediocre - for fellow men in the surroundings of less than half a meter perceptible in all facets. But even with more than five generous sprayers the scent radius does not widen.
However, the shelf life and the tea identity are constantly changing with increasing sweetness until late evening.

- The flacon -
The flacon is simple and of high quality made of solid, patterned glass. The bright yellow design of the folding box, the flacon label and the lid announce the carefree, fresh scent impression.

- Occasions -
I associate Polly with wearers who are more attracted to natural fragrances.
The fragrance is wearable in leisure time, at work but also on special occasions in all seasons and clothing colours.

- Conclusion -
All in all, Polly is a daily companion that I would not want to miss anymore and with whom I feel safe.
Not spectacular - but special and cheerful!

- At the end my name also signs the declaration of love to Polly every day! -

Tea's not gonna be boring, is it? Nope.
Hey guys!

Today I come to Dear Polly. Hm... when I saw the name, I actually thought that it just had to be some flowery women's scent, because that's how it sounded to me. And I almost wanted to put the rehearsal into the rehearsal box again and pull something else out, because I didn't think of anything spontaneously. But then I looked into the fragrance pyramid and what did I see there?

Of course I am! Black tea was available, which again increased my motivation to give this fragrance a chance and to test it now, even if it still is a women's fragrance. But no matter, tea scents arouse my curiosity, but you know that anyway, so I won't go into how crazy I am about tea scents (right, I'm crazy about tea scents, NOT just crazy!!!!!). Well, I'm going to sip my cup where... no, it's not tea, it's coffee! How is it that DonJuanDeCat drinks coffee instead of tea, you ask? Well, it's very simple: If you only drink tea, tea becomes boring at some point! Hiiii!! Did I really just say that?? Nah, not me! :D

Anyway, I quickly munch a piece of Lokum with a pomegranate in it (which unfortunately are almost all already...), just to take up pointless calories and then sniff off! And hopefully the tomcat doesn't see me eating candy here, because then he also gets curious and as always wants to know what to eat here, ... because he's sleeping on top of my closet and from there he has a full overview of what I'm doing down here at my table...

Well, here we go :D

The fragrance:
Ooooh yes, the scent begins immediately with black tea, which smells wonderful (and fresh). In addition, the bergamot is a great match, which emphasizes the tea and freshness impression once again. Apple is also present, for me it smells like slightly sour, green apple. Fortunately it is not so strong, because I find the apple a little inappropriate to the tea scent.
However, the apple gets weaker and weaker as the scent progresses, so it doesn't really bother me here. One continues to smell black tea, which now also appears slightly smokier from the heart note. The slight sweetness of the fragrance should come from the indicated amber. Here it says that it's black amber, I don't know if it smells completely different than "normal" amber and if this scent is responsible for the smoky impression I just mentioned here, but this smoky smell disappears forever a little bit later. Anyway, it smells great, even later, when the amber keeps mixing with the musk.
Much later the tea is clearly weaker, but also all other fragrances are then more mixed with each other instead of smelling "so alone", but result as a whole a very nice fragrance. It smells slightly sweetly floral with tea and amber/moschus, and the scent is also a little creamy in the later base.

The Sillage and the shelf life:
The charisma is simple mediocrity, which means that it is best to smell it only from close up, but at least you don't have to get very close. It's okay, on warm days it's certainly much more noticeable. The shelf life is thus four to five hours, after which it is really only present very weakly on the skin.

The bottle:
The bottle is cylindrical and rather flat, so it almost looks like a disc. The glass is beautifully waved and thus reminds of classic bottle glass patterns of the last decades. On the front there is a small yellowish label with the name of the fragrance on it, the lid has also been kept in this colour and therefore matches the colour very well. It's a nice bottle.

Oh, yeah! The scent is wonderful. It smells really wonderful of tea again, so that the tea note is not only hinted at and therefore quickly flies away. No, here you can really enjoy the tea! And the other scents also go wonderfully with it. Well, the apple had disturbed me very briefly, but it fades away very quickly, so you can ignore the apple.

So Dear Polly is a fresh, slightly bitter and only moderately sweet scent for spring and summer and more recommended for tea lovers who love tea scents. Of course I would recommend all others to test the scent at least once, because you might like it too :) But it also seems to be creatures among you perfumers who are not supposed to like tea scents, incomprehensibly... unbelievable! :DD

In terms of strength, fragrance type and shelf life, it is certainly a daily fragrance. So you can use it in your job or studies, or even during the day, for example in your free time, at a brunch, shopping or whatever you do during the day, ... For the evening or to go out he is simply not the type to it, because he is a bit too unspectacular, but above all too weak for it. Too bad it's just a ladies' scent again *grummel*

So that's it, then. The cat is still sleeping, so that I have my rest, my coffee will be replaced later by Roiboos tea (or maybe black tea? Let's see...) and I wish you all a nice evening :)
