Not all oud is the same
It's hard to escape the oud theme when you're dealing with perfumes and (I'm almost inclined to say) of course you can't avoid Tom Ford's Oud Wood. I don't want to call Vince Camuto's fragrance a fragrance twin, although there are parallels. Both fragrances feature other woods besides oud, which are especially noticeable in the base note. Vince Camuto's oud, however, still has spice components that make the fragrance more complex, warmer and softer for me. It's as if you take a piece of music that has a beautiful, catchy melody per se and combines the chords (chords are also present in fragrances) to a perfect harmony. Especially saffron and nutmeg add another dimension to the scent, which changes slightly over time, but never becomes trivial. For me, this is the fragrance that suits me and my skin a little better in most situations and moods.
