Lovely white floral
Compliment opens with a big "Ta-Daa!" of orange blossom and tuberose. Jasmin immediately follows to form a powerful white floral trio. Subtle green notes are to be found when sniffed closely. Because of those accents, there is some similarity with "Carnal Flower | Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle" , but that does not last very long. Where Malle's tuberose is tame, Compliment does not hold back. At least, for the first hour or so. Along the way, the florals lower their volume and a more delicate, warm-hearted base of vanilla-heliotrope notes unfolds. It adds just a bit of powderiness without taking the overhand.
This perfume setup is clever. Big entrance, variations in the orangeblossom-tuberose-jasmin ratios, green accents that turn into warmer powdery accents over time. To be honest, I did not think much of Nathalie Lorson's work before, but this is truly a beautiful white floral composition. Deserves a compliment!
