A Xerjoff from 2018 and still without a review? Very unusual. Well, then I have to contribute as a lazy writer probably a few words. Actually, you can almost make up the from the various statements, but a little bit of detailed text should be granted.

He starts very floral-citrus-fruity, for me rather something harsh and difficult to distinguish. This start has unfortunately something bathroom cleaner charm. Not the citrus bomb, but something with flowers. This attack fortunately subsides after a few minutes. If honey is there, it goes down rather.

The heart, on the other hand, stays for quite a while. The citrus has faded, quite strong flowers of the white variety dominate. Rose I smell not at all to minimal, the orange blossom actually appreciated by me also holds back very much. In addition to ylang-ylang, I would also suspect jasmine, even if that does not appear in the notes. The background is supported by light sweetness, the honey seems to have saved itself into the heart. The heart phase with the strong floral dominance lasts a long time. Exact time can not be said, because the change to the base is very slow.

With time, the flowers take back a bit and the fragrance becomes softer and I find also more complex. A very delicate but recognizable tobacco leaf note is supported by some vanilla, also the honey seems to persistently but discreetly. For me, the most beautiful time of the fragrance, because it shows a complexity and interwoven. Whether this is then already the base or a late development of the heart note may everyone decide for themselves. If heart, then this is a long heart phase.

After 3-4 hours, the flowers are obviously somewhat exhausted and you can also sniff a slightly woody base. However, the aforementioned base notes gaukeln a much stronger woody base, the whole is rather restrained woody and shows no dominance of vetiver or patchouly. Quite withdraw the flowers, moreover, not.

Overall, quite a successful fragrance with interesting development. Me personally too blossom-heavy especially for daily use, so there is no exuberant rating. Tends to be rather feminine (if you want to stay with the classic classification). You should definitely like blossoms, then it is definitely worth a test. The blooming phase längt long and is really very successful after the first attack.

Naxos for the summer?
Many call the 400 a Naxos for the summer. I wouldn't say that.

The 400 is very underrated from the JTC collection. Hardly anyone has the fragrance on their radar, so it doesn't feel like every second person is wearing it like Naxos or 40 Knots etc.

The fragrance starts off beautifully floral, but for me as a man never too floral, constantly accompanied by honey and a fine corpse tobacco, not as strong as the tobacco note in Naxos. That's why many people compare the 400 with Naxos, because of the honey and the tobacco. But the 400 is a completely different floral with honey and very finely tuned, the Naxos is coarser. I find the fragrance very good and my wife also likes it very much on me.

The fragrance is definitely unisex. I think you can wear it at any time of year as it is never too heavy for a summer evening but also not too weak for a winter day.

The H/S is very good, like the old batches of Naxos !

The bottle is typically Xerjoff very beautiful

Underrated
When I bought the Alexandria 2 back then, the man gave me the Naxos as a sample. I was shockingly in love.
All this without me noticing any of the hype . Before that I was more mainstream.

With the 400 I felt almost like I did back then .
I think they have a certain similarity but it is a fragrance of its own . Durability , sillage are super 8 hours plus
The honey is a dream, sweet but I don't find it too penetrating.

It somehow reminds me of a warm fall evening. It envelops me and makes me feel safe and at home.

I have now worn it for several days in a row. I could wear it again tomorrow, which is rare for me and a fragrance.

I think it's good that it flies a little under the radar.

"Naxos" for mild to warm temperatures
First of all WOW - what a fragrance experience!!! For me a great Naxos alternative for spring/summer. What the Naxos has more tobacco and is coarser, the 400 is much smoother.

There are definitely similarities due to the honey and tobacco, but the 400 goes in a more floral direction as it progresses.

I tested both on my arms and have to say that they conjure up a very pleasant feeling for me. Nevertheless, the heaviness of the Naxos fragrance is more suitable for cold days - and that's where the 400 comes in.
Due to the light mandarin and floral notes in the heart note, I think it is very suitable for warmer days in spring or in the transition between summer and fall.

Longevity and sillage are very good - easily lasts a working day for me. My wife likes this perfume better than Naxos for the above-mentioned reasons of "lightness" but without being weak.

The high summer test is still to come this year, but I think it can work in the evenings in summer - I'm already looking forward to the coming sunny season - if only to unpack the summer fragrances!

It has already passed the test at a mild 15 degrees the other day.

The quality of the leather box and the bottle are typical for Xerjoff at a very high level. P/L is ok for the performance offered.

More in a good mood than a shopping mood
I actually bought the 400 blind, because I really wanted to finally add a Xerjoff to my collection, but so far everything has failed.... Casamorati - Dolce Amalfi Eau de Parfum was the first, for me an absolutely incomprehensible fragrance, I actually had to wash it off... Then it went on and on with rows of Casamorattis and JTCs, either unappealing to my nose or if the fragrance was nicer, but performed very badly on my skin, or simply far too masculine (I'm a real fan of very feminine fragrances, that's just the way it is, many unisex fragrances are already very masculine for me).

Then, in my desperation, a nice Parfumo recommended the 400 in the ticker
I promised to get myself a bottling, shortly afterwards I got an unbeatable souk offer from another very nice perfumo, and out of sheer frustration I bought it.

So, a clear blind buy, and that with a brand where I had rather worse experiences. But a person must have a bit of luck, the noble shopping center bottle took me directly to its shopping mile with the first spray.

As soon as you spray it, you notice that it stands out and is very classy. I immediately get honey and tobacco, of all things, I usually find tobacco to be one of the most masculine notes of all.

But not here: Honey and tobacco are so strongly embedded on a sea of flowers that the tobacco actually comes across as bright green, only minimally smoky if at all, and actually very cheerful and yes... in my nose even rather feminine

A glance at the pyramid confirms the first impression, but I don't get the citrus notes directly. Orange blossom often doesn't work so well for me, but here the honey and tobacco keep the flowers and the orange blossom in check so that the fragrance comes across as very unique. The flowers are there, but they don't unfold like they do in an Amouage, for example. The whole thing remains discreetly floral, which means that this fragrance can also be worn by men who would like to wear flowers but not in women's clothing :)

Later I notice more and more creaminess, and here at the latest I am in love. I think it might be the ylang ylang with the ever more obvious orange blossom, I can't really place this light creamy note. Patchouli could fit at the end, after about 4 to 5 hours I hear clear light woods, which then end the shopping trip with a patch wood.

For me, the fragrance name doesn't fit, I can't for the life of me explain why this fragrance should remind me of Selfridges. I wear it in the office or whenever I feel like it, but certainly not when I want to go out on the town with the girls. A Casamorati - Italica would suit me better, and the guys would certainly find the red Casamoratti sexier than the JTC... At least my husband thinks so, he finds the 400 rather so-so :)

But I just love it, my mood goes up with it, I feel well-groomed and high-quality, even expensive. But it's one of the cheapest fragrances in the JTC range. Absolutely unisex, but certainly very feminine on women.

I also find it suitable for all ages, as it is light and bright and therefore also playful. Sillage in the first 2 hours well perceptible, with increasing creaminess it is always closer to the skin. Lasts at least 6 hours on my skin, which is enough for me, I usually spray it on again in the afternoon. Again, it is one of those fragrances for me where the performance and price are clearly worth it.

Many compare it to the Naxos. Honestly, I have tested the Naxos extensively because my husband likes to wear it. For me, Naxos is an example of a unisex fragrance that has a rather masculine effect on my nose. I don't wear it for that reason either.

So, to summarize, perhaps the 400 can be considered a more feminine version of the Naxos. But the 400 is simply much more. Its sea of flowers makes it unique and absolutely different from most of the other fragrances in the JTC range, at least those I have tested, and also from the Naxos and Tony Iommi Monkey Special consorts.

I guess after the small bottle a big one will move in too, for me this is the kind of fragrance you never want to miss in your collection. Somehow it brings something noble and beautiful out of me and I don't want to miss it anymore :)

And what about you? Have you by any chance been able to compare the 400 and the Naxos and which one appeals to you more?
Thank you for reading my review and best regards

A little too sweet. Never cloying but perhaps a little too flat. Delicate spices on a sweet floral background.

Intense white floral scent, I get much ylang ylang on my skin and it’s quite feminine! Decent but didn’t say wow!

My fave in the honey-tobacco-vanilla "genre" that's all the rage currently, including over Naxos from the same house. Wonderfully complex.
