Fantastically blended spiced oud and tobacco

I think this fragrance must sit in a weird nook to receive such low ratings. It seems to me that it is too oudy and animalic for the folks who are looking for spicy/sweet scents like Carlisle or "XJ 1861 Naxos | XerJoff" and too toned-down and not aggressive enough for the oud lovers who prefer stuff like Musk Aoud or Opus XIII - Silver Oud. But for me, it sits in the perfect spot between those two. Powerful oud/nagarmotha based scents tend to have a difficult opening that you have to get through to enjoy a beautiful drydown. Luxor solves this by placing a soft, sweet cinnamon note in the top end, blocking the sharp resins from coming through until the drydown. The tobacco note hangs around from beginning to end, providing interplay between the sweet opening and the dry closing, a perfect modifier/heart note. Unfortunate that this one does not get more love because it is stunning.

P.S. Value for money is also rated extremely low. Yes, the retail price is over €300 but I'm easily finding it on discounters for under 150 USD. Great value at that price.

XerJoff / Oud Stars - Luxor

The fragrance of an Italian producer of a huge range of perfumes, which smells like perfumes from Arab or Far Eastern countries. I do not know where this name and references to Egypt come from, because I do not associate them with the smells found there and the perfumes that I had the opportunity to meet there. Probably too little traveled and got to know. The smell itself is a revelation for me, I did not expect it. The scent of incense, leather, tobacco and oud is intertwined in it. I don't know how they did it at this price, but my nose agar is a really good quality ingredient here. From time to time I still smell cinnamon and cedars. As for the oud itself - it's not off-putting here, so feel free to try. I also suggest waiting a while (20-30 minutes) after use. Something that may not suit some people at the beginning and get the grade 'HATE', then it may be 'LOVE'.
When it comes to parameters - projection at a good level, and very good durability - above 10 hours.
I see…. There is no sweetness in it, which I am very happy about.
Personally, I highly recommend it to all agarophiles, it is definitely worth knowing and I think it is worth having. I found them very late and such a nice surprise.

Underrated

This fragrance is one of the most unpopular XerJoff fragrances. If you ask me, quite wrongly. It's beautifully composed.

Cinnamon, tobacco, leather, incense, oud, spices. A small oriental hawker's tray. Or rather a big oriental hawker's tray. Weakly flowing, the composition remains as it is, but naturally becomes less intense and softer with time. The scents begin to merge into each other. Nice, also the development on my skin.

Durability and sillage are not very good, but they are quite good. There's a 2 of me.

There is nothing magical or unusual about the fragrance, but those who are not bothered by the above ingredients and like oriental scents will find it appealing and will be able to accept it.

The low ratings here are not appropriate in my opinion, as the fragrance is what it should be. High quality ingredients (you can smell it) and a DNA that pleases oriental noses without irritating them. Thumbs up from me, although not a candidate for my collection. Cheers!v
