Freshnessless
Starts with sweet mandarins and oranges and smells a bit synthetic, then quickly becomes quite creamy and this synthetic feeling develops to its highest. After a couple of hours it is just a fizzy drink with a slight hint of citrus and prominent artificial creaminess, no single sign of freshness. Close to skin, doesn't give you an "aura" feeling. A bottle is a bit "kitchy", too many colours, too bright, like sleek Italian style is gone or turned into an eastern bazaar.

Juicy Fruit and strong Musk
I am going to be blunt here on first spray this smells of juicy fruit chewing gum in a puddle of stale piss. I know it's not eloquent but that's my impression. It's longevity is OK and projection moderate. I'm a big fan of Chris Maurice and love many of his creations for Xerjoff but this one is more like something ATH would create. Saying that I actually like it. The vanilla comes through but I can't smell tobacco. If its there it's very faint. An evening fragrance for sure but don't reveal it to the world until you let it die down for an hour or two.

Dionisio light light
For me, the very little brother of Dionisio (Tiziana Terenzi)
The top note has already something bubble gum , tangerine I can not really perceive.
Musc, bright flowers, fruits and fresh tobacco & vanilla follow.
Due to the restrained sillage and also durability Decas is much more wearable than the Beast Dionisio.
But for many perhaps too restrained.

A better first impression than actual character
Xerjoff Decas

Notes
Top notes: Tuberose, Tobacco, Calabrian mandarin orange
Mid notes: Florentine iris, benzoin, opoponax
Base notes: musk, balsam, bourbon vanilla

Background Information
Decas was released in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the 1861 collection (which also includes Naxos, Renaissance and Zefiro). Recurring element in this collection I find the use of citrus (Renaissance) or aromatic notes (Zefiro and Naxos). Seen this way, Decas, amber-vanilla-citrus fragrance, fits perfectly into the 1861 trend.

Fragrance composition
- Opening
Decas opens very warmly with amber and vanilla immediately in the foreground. The amber and vanilla are full and dense in their own right. The benzoin gives it a spicy character. The orris makes the fragrance buttery and creamy.

Underneath the amber and vanilla is the calabrian mandarin. This note makes the fragrance airy and of somewhat lighter weight. Very pleasant and mouthwateringly refreshing.

- Mid
The mid consists of a warm bed of amber and vanille with that mandarine note that lingers around. It reminded me slightly of Hale Bopp by Tiziana Terenzi but that scent leans heavily on lemon. Decas does so on tangerine. Hale Bopp is also heavy on spices (clove and cinnamon) while Decas stays straight forward with amber and vanilla. The only spicy facet associated with it is the benzoin.

- Dry Down
The dry down differs from the opening. Paired with the musk, the orris steps more prominently into the foreground. It makes the fragrance warmer and more sensual. The freshness of the tangerine - which I personally love - fades away, which is quite a shame if you ask me.

The trouble I have with the dry down is that it becomes a buttery, musky amber-vanilla scent. That's already explored territory for many of us. In other words, nothing groundbreaking. You can almost think of it as Ani without that sharp ginger and bergamot, and with an additional note of amber.

Notes I do not detect: tobacco, resins and opoponax.

Conclusion
A very pleasant fragrance that is easily wearable and even hints at a gourmand at times. Had hoped that the opening would linger much longer and the dry down retained the freshness of the tangerine. The tangerine blended perfectly with the vanilla and amber. The dry down is unfortunately nothing unique. A missed opportunity. Or should I say: a great first impression that didn't live up to its self.

Lovely amber--fruity, fresh, sweet, powdery
Decas is one of Xerjoff’s latest releases, a 10-year anniversary release of the Xerjoff 1861 collection. It’s primarily a sweet, fruity amber with some powdery touches, featuring a note mix of benzoin, mandarin, tuberose, tobacco, orris, opoponax, balsam, musk, and vanilla. So it’s primarily resinous, rather sweet, with hints of flowers and tobacco to keep things interesting, even if both are fairly limited relative to the sweet/resinous dominance.

Decas is dense but restrained, clearly very strong in terms of concentration but not over-the-top in terms of composition, despite being quite sweet, but it’s quite lovable for fans of ambery and sweet fragrances like myself. It’s nuanced and probably all the more satisfying for it, as there are hosts of amber fragrances out there of all kinds at various price points.

It’s priced at 190 Euros for 100ml for US customers in the Xerjoff Universe online shop, which is so far the only official channel through which I’ve seen it sold, though like some exclusives, I imagine it’ll be available in department stores and boutiques at some point.

The new bull's eye from Xerjoff
I received yesterday the filling of Decas and today it was so far that the fragrance is tested. This morning I sprayed Decas at 7 o'clock and immediately after spraying this fruity note came to light, which I like so much in Erba Pura and Dolce Amalfi. Decas also goes in the sweet fruity direction but has a very independent character through the tobacco and balsam note and manages to stand out from the other Xerjoff's very well. The tobacco note is built in Decas as well as Naxos very nice in the fruity notes. I think Decas will also appeal to anyone who likes Tobacco Vanilla a lot. The next point why I find Decas very successful is that Decas is more unisex than Erba Pura or Kirké, because with these fragrances there is always the opinion that they are not for men, or would not fit so well. Decas does not have this problem and manages it with the tobacco note skillfully to move the whole in the unisex direction. Here really no one can complain that would be too feminine for a man. I will soon buy a bottle of this great new Xerjoff.

Decas opens with a bubblegum-like mandarin, sweet but elegant. The drydown is spicy, floral and creamy. The scent is sweet but never cloying

Smells delicious! It’s like a white floral sweet bubblegum with some orange bitters! It’s more feminine to me. I love it!!!
