Yet again, a wonder from the house of Yas
I could not pass having Taj by Yas in my collection though the price tag was one of the highest I've ever had to argue with. In the summer time, Taj was an absolute dream enamouring everyone who got a whiff of me. Now, in the colder weather, Taj is less fruity and the pepper note is actually detectable. To read my full review, please revisit my take on Taj, but I wanted to mention how different the scents perform depending on weather - even more than other fragrances. So I will definitely revisit Al Malaki, So Yas and Oud Aquilaria in the summertime too.

I think I'm going to start off with Al Malaki, a scent that has only two notes stated on Fragrantica - Oud and incense. I am already intimidated.

From first spray, Al Malaki takes me by surprise. It is light, somewhat fresh, and spicy; needless to say, nothing like I imagined it to be. I was expecting a heavy oud too strong for my nose. It reminds me a lot of Whispered Myths by Imaginary Authors, but without the sweet undertone of cantaloupe melon.
I have to say that Al Malaki isn't my cup of coffee, it isn't a fragrance I would wear, but I am blown away by the quality. It is so smooth, so rich, so elegant and you just know this is a quality you won't find in any ol' perfume. The fragrance is surprisingly not overpowering; despite two generous sprays, it remains welcoming and light. Al Malaki is definitely unisex, but I would love to smell it on a man (I did spray my boyfriend) and it is an absolute dream.
Looking for a clean oud fragrance? Look no further, Al Malaki is thee light oud scent! I am so happy that I stumbled upon Sense Dubai in Warsaw last summer. My take on quality fragrances has reached new levels after experiencing the juices in that store full of art.

Yas Perfumes / Yas Al Malaki
Al Malaki - BLACK Heavyweight CHAMPION. It can be associated with Black Afgano, Black Oud (Laurent Mazzone), Fortis (Liquides Imaginaires), or Cuirs (Carner Barcelona), but… well… ..only, because it has very deep darkness, darkness and POWER.
Here we have a lot of black agar (oud) combined with a lot of dark wood (ebony?).
Every now and then the darkness brightens - there are notes of leather (saddle?) Smoothed out with unsweet vanilla and light incense. The fragrance for me is phenomenal, perfect and masterfully composed. I realize that it is not for everyone, but for fans of OUD, lumberjacks, and incense - a must-have.
For a long time I tried to buy it at a better price than in Poland (it's great that it is available at all thanks to Sense Dubai) -No good things in Europe ... not available, so only the UAE.
Aha-durability and projection: very good(8-12 hours; number of sprays - I think max 2-3, unless you want to kill the environment with your presence).

The wild mustang / how scent perception changes
In my statement about a year ago, I wrote "massive oud in the top note, stalky, biting. This is how the labyrinth of the Minotaur must have smelled". I have to revise this, because since then I have been allowed to test much more bulky oud scents, up to those whose smell is very well known to me as a nurse.

While rummaging around in my alt samples I came across this one again, which prompted me to post its first comment.
First, I would like to join the other voices on this fragrance and throw the fragrance pyramid given here overboard, because we have here clearly more content, at least the oud note is clear.
The oud is here only conditionally tamed, but also does not have the animalism that you know from other oud fragrances. Fecal notes I no longer perceive.
Umfleochten this note of cardamom,
Saffron as well as other spicy notes, I would guess into the blue on gently represented dates. Musk comes in here very darkly, without evoking the human-sweat association. I like that.
Vanilla and amber are so far back, if at all, that I can't wholly smell them. Vanilla at most as its original pod form, smelling more spicy than sweet. Patchouli becomes more pronounced towards the foundation, lending somber depth, but is limited by the warm spicy notes.

I think of Yas al Malaki as a mustang, which is neither with reins nor saddled, but he is at least ridden with a saddle blanket. Beneath his black coat, powerful lungs fill to supply oxygen to his explosive body. As a rider you feel this deep tremor in the animal's body as it chases across the prairie.
I would consider this image, projected onto man, as civilized, but with animal energy hidden within. A wild drive bubbling beneath the surface. (And this is not meant sexually)
That recognizes at least my nose today, which is what musk, oud and oriental animalic approaching fragrances a little more trained. A less trained nose will probably find the warscheinlich as unpleasant.
For connoisseurs of Orientalik the wheel is not reinvented, but precise and qualitatively built. Price-wise, it is depending on the seller at 187-269€ for 100 ml.

Thank you for reading my comment.
