Ispahan pour moi
Leconte de Lisle's romantic poem "Les roses d'Ispahan" could have served as inspiration for this lush, sweet rose fragrance.
Unlike its predecessor "Ispahan", which came out in 1977 and which I have always seen in a line with "Opium", "Rose Ispahan" (1997) is not a spicy Oriental, but a slightly fruity bouquet of roses, underscored by subtle gourmand tones, with a confectionery-like sweetness which normally does not correspond to my perfume taste, but which was so cleverly incorporated here that it does not appear too kitschy.
But it would be kitschy now if I told you why I recently bought the fragrance on Ebay and what I intend to do with it.
