Girls are crazy and bitchy, or should I be wrong? :D
Hello and have a nice evening snoop :D
Welcome to my commentary on Yves Saint Laurent's newer fragrance "Black Opium". Yes, I know, the fragrance isn't so new, because Black Opium has been around for a few years (since 2014, if I'm not mistaken?) And the normal opium came already in the 70s!), but since known fragrances are often reissued again and again, there is a new version of the Eau de Toilettes of this fragrance here, namely the edition from 2018.
If you are lucky, in principle only little changes, so that you either don't notice the differences at all or they don't turn out to be too disturbing. Sometimes, however, a new version for some perfumes (or perfumes) can even break the scent, where you search for the original scent full of heartache to enjoy it for a while and store some of it in the scent treasure chest before they all become unavailable. I think some of you have already had such experiences with various fragrances.
I don't know any EDT from Black Opium yet, but only the EDP from 2014 and the Nuit Blanche. Therefore I come also directly to the smell description and can write also no real comparison comment, but that makes hopefully nothing...
Anyway, you continue to smell coffee, along with now sweet notes (I suppose they come from jasmine, even if you didn't say so here) that come across pleasantly, even though they should have the well-known "mainstream synthetics" of great and very well-known mainstream scents.
A little later you can smell Neroli, which also goes well with the sweet scents. Coffee is still a little available and smells especially nice with the cedar wood, the sweet is complemented by musk and patchouli still gives off its earthy note. Even if Patchouli is only available in small quantities, I could have rather done without Patchouli here.
In the end, the fragrance continues to smell of orange blossom, light coffee and sweet notes of musk. Then it becomes a little muggier, because it suddenly gains intensity and somehow smells flowery-sweetish-muggy, this lasts about 1-2 hours, then the scent somehow suddenly fades away and comes to an end.
So, first of all: The fragrance is not as bad as most people have rated it here, but that is of course a matter of taste. I can well imagine that most people actually have less to do with this fragrance here, since the synthetic note might bother you, although it's not bad, but you notice it quite clearly here.
In addition, the fragrance has a bit of a charisma like this kind of scents, which are preferred by 16 to 18 year old teenagers, who are now increasingly using scents, because from this age especially boys are no longer "igitt", but now appear more interesting (or other girls, depending on). The girls themselves seem to become more physically mature, but some of them remain a little bit crazy in their brains (but the boys also, ... and I have to mention that boys are even stupider and stay longer than girls for a while...) and above all they become one thing they will never get rid of again: bitchy! You can see that with you ladies here... uh... Isn't that so? Mu ha ha ha ha :DD
Anyway, the scent appears like a night scent, but the girls in question use such a scent at any time, which is okay, but unfortunately these girls often have no idea about the dosage, so that you can already smell them for example at the other end of the train :D
But as I said, boys do the same of course, I've seen that often enough on shelves in the men's department of scents (yes damn, so I don't test women's scents ONLY, argh!!!).
In my opinion a test is not really worthwhile now, but you can still have a look at it if you are interested. Because I really don't find the fragrance soo bad, but there are many, really a lot of more interesting and also more beautiful fragrances, even among the normal mainstreamers. While this one smells as good as the EDP of 2014 for me, I think the Nuit Blanche is much more successful and would recommend more to the Nuit Blanche.
Well, that was my opinion about the scent. I wish you all a nice evening and see you soon :)

The fragrance:
At the beginning I smell a little currants and some coffee, which I actually find quite nice, although unspectacular. A little bit of lemon will give you a little freshness, but it will quickly sink again. Then the pear emerges and provides for a further, fruity smell. However, the fruity notes also soon lose their power again and quickly mix with other scents, making it a little more difficult to distinguish or filter out these scents. Anyway, you continue to smell coffee, along with now sweet notes (I suppose they come from jasmine, even if you didn't say so here) that come across pleasantly, even though they should have the well-known "mainstream synthetics" of great and very well-known mainstream scents.

The Sillage and the shelf life:
The Sillage is good, you will be able to smell the scent for a while without other snoopers having to get too close! The shelf life is about seven to eight hours. The bottle:
Viewed from the front, the bottle is rectangular, but has an oval base. It's reddish-pink and has a glittering effect. In the middle you can see the famous "porthole" as you know it from some scents of YSL. The black lid is cylindrical at the bottom where the brand name can be seen and ends in a hemisphere at the top. A very nice bottle, but I liked the black version better. So, first of all: The fragrance is not as bad as most people have rated it here, but that is of course a matter of taste.
