Misunderstood genius
Through my discovery of the perfume world, and by extension this community, as a man I couldn't help but get involved with one of the most fabled fragrances ever.

Yves Saint Laurent's La Nuit de L'Homme.

And yes, the regular, now available, watered down EdT, is really excellent, but just a bit pale and weak.

But pretty soon you realize that you can't get the vintage version, or let's say, not at a price at which it's worth it.

But my research has shown that there are fragrances that bring back the intensity of the original, in a slightly different way perhaps.

First I tested the new "Bleu Electrique" version, a really great scent, should definitely have it if you like the series. But as the perfectionist I am, I wanted of course all the other available versions also test.
And I feel the "L'Intense" version of it funnily enough as the better "ideological successor" of the EdT.

La Nuit de L'Homme L'Intense is a bit sweeter, has more depth than the EdT, and also a slightly more powdery feel.
But especially in the drydown, I find the scent to be what the soul of La Nuit de L'Homme is:
A cuddly, spicy-sweet, orienal, slightly erotic, masculine scent. With that certain charisma, which really only nobler houses or designers are able to create.

The performance of the perfume, so durability and charisma, I find really okay. I think the designer fragrances often intentionally design so that you just have to spray more often, even on clothes and hair, so that the fragrance is simply more evenly distributed and simply not too offensive.
So it remains more pleasant in the perception, the counterpart catches only every now and then an impression of your charisma. That also keeps it more interesting. ;)
And this expressive composition would certainly be too offensive, would it be so strong that a spray is enough.

L'Intense is unfortunately also no longer produced, but you can find it every now and then where quite affordable to buy on the Internet.

But actually I do not want you to do that anyway. So I'm left with more. ;P

La Nuit de L'Homme L'Intense - 2015 - 2021. A loving obituary.
You were beautiful. You are beautiful. You always will be.

La Nuit de L'Homme with glowing iris at its heart. Started as a sidekick, you were still not fresh and spicy enough for us to follow in vintage La Nuit de L'Homme's footsteps.

But for me, at least, all that was about to change:
I don't know about you with this, but I have come to love this "sidekick", this flanker over the years.

The scent starts right after spraying on with a really strong iris fire blast, with a glowing, fluffy sweet core. But yet also a little Herb, oriental-spicy, with that certain mystical La Nuit flair.
It has unlike the normal La Nuit but a fruitier, orange, syrupy base. But high quality, and offset with the prominent iris that runs throughout, creating a crossover with Dior Homme and other iris fragrances.
Actually, with Dior Homme perfume, only weaker. And a little softer, less overpowering. It has but thereby this beautiful "3D depth" I love at Dior Homme & Co so much.
Vanilla and tonka bean also flatter around, which is nice. And it still gets a little 'edge' from the sage, if only an idea. The EdT is much spicier here.... I find it also a quite floral, sometimes shimmers me Gaultiers "Fleur du mal" something through.
Something I could not have wished for more beautiful actually, as a Dior Homme, Valentino Uomo or Prada L'Homme fan of the first hour. B)

It's as if La Nuit had a fluffy winter coat on, so one with fluffy hood. However, you can also wear it well in the spring or on a summer evening. Only in really hot weather, any fresher YSL product is more suitable, for example LNDL Eau Électrique, or the great L'Homme Le Parfum. (-> Both Top!!)

Excuses by the way the short form (LNDL), but the naming is now really not the shortest...
"Yves Saint Laurent La Nuit de L'Homme L'Intense Eau de Parfum" ... those in the creative department at YSL must be having quite a time. :D

What I would like to take from my old review is, we La Nuit de L'Homme die-hard fans would have honestly just wanted the vintage version of LNDL back, instead of all the flankers... but I have to admit that even those get a bit bogged down over time, and you want to wear something else then.

And "L'Intense" has become here for me really in the long run a welcome change, a fragrance to which I reach very gladly times to make a special evening again a little more special.

The performance is rather medium-strong, however, many underestimate from my point of view the durability, as Eau de Parfum concentrations tend to last rather longer, but project weaker, as the alcohol in EdT's makes them more radiant, but higher perfume-oil content for it just increases the durability.

LNDL L'Intense radiates the first hour very strongly, then pulls back a bit towards Hautnah, but is in the Silage and movements in the environment for others then very well noticeable. Especially if you also spray in the hair and on the clothes, you come well through the day (or night ... ), with the advantage that "Oversprayen" not so fatal ends, and on the other hand you can distribute the fragrance well over the whole body.
And hey, stronger than the current La Nuit de L'Homme EdT is it all times still... ;P

And funny enough, the people who often experience me with La Nuit de L'Homme Vintage, usually think that I wear this,- although it is L'Intense! So the DNA is definitely there, and is recognized, despite the independence.

Here you can see again how deep we are in the "game", that we hardcore perfume users and connoisseurs sometimes cling to such exact ideas.

Anyway, I wear the fragrance really often and gladly, he is really beautifully done, very independent and still so what of "La Nuit". Unfortunately, he was now finally discontinued, in favor of the "LNDL Eau de Parfum", but fortunately we live in a time in which you get everything still on the net.
Also, luckily not everyone shares my love for it, which is handy in that case. ;P

For me, it remains a fragrance jewel for the ages, with which I associate many fond memories. :)

La Nuit- High Five to you all! ;)

the Good Weakling
The fragrance starts for me with atomic irispower but unfortunately quickly evaporates again, even before you can enjoy them properly (with me only about 30 min. intense afterwards only Hautnah).
The Tonka(v)anille remains for almost 4 hours Hautnah. Overall performed the fragrance with me very weak.

Strong Iris
I already own La Nuit de L' Homme le Parfum, which I like to wear because it's a cuddly fragrance, not too loud, but elegant.
The Intense, on the other hand, starts much harsher with the more dominant iris note, which irritated me a bit in the beginning, but is now really great.
After about 1 1/2 hours the iris becomes weaker, but remains pleasantly intact. The fragrance then becomes sweeter and warmer.
The two fragrances, le Parfum and Intense, do not differ too much, but the Intense has more power in the beginning and is sweeter in the later course than le Parfum, which is more spicy.
The shelf life is about 7-8 hours on the skin.
It lasts significantly longer at the clothing Who is an Iris fan, may suffer this smell surely.
Definitely recommended.
8 of 10 points.

This intense flanker is neither intense nor a flanker!
The last time I checked the French semantics of the "La Nuit de L'Homme Intense" name, I found that it had something to do with men and came up at night with a certain intensity and recognized strength.
Probably "la Maison" YSL needs a semantic lesson or two as they choose a completely inappropriate name for this fragrance! Why? Only because...
- It's pretty subtle! I want it to be a little more intense or stronger.
- It smells like a versatile new fragrance. So it is not a night scent and in no way smells similar to the well-known scent of 'La Nuit de L'Homme'. The characteristic cardamom note is nowhere to be found.
- It is a slightly masculine fragrance because of the patchouli note. It seems to me that it can also be considered unisex. Without that patchouli note, it would undoubtedly be a feminine fragrance. Additionally, the strong iris note with its signature lipstick-like scent really makes you wonder how masculine this perfume is ... I wouldn't judge a lot!

I find this new YSL fragrance moderately pleasant and seductive. Actually, I could even prefer this fragrance to what I get from the original La Nuit de L'Homme ... or maybe not!
The scent is pretty linear and subtle, but I don't see it as a defect. During its lifespan I get:
- A powdery floral/lipstick accord that is due to strong iris root and violet floral notes.
- Slightly sweet due to weaker vanilla and stronger notes of tonka beans.
- A peppery, subtle note, probably derived from clary sage.
- It's easy to notice a touch of patchouli with an earthy and woody tone.
It turns out to be a well-mixed fragrance. Its scent reminds me of two other perfumes with at least one similar mood. I would say Dior Homme for the lipstick aroma and Dior Fahrenheit for the violet floral note.
In terms of performance, you will achieve average or below average longevity. It is only slightly better than the current below-average version of La Nuit De L'Homme. The silage and projection are below average and this intense version is no better than the current original EdT. Too bad for YSL, because they know the tricks to create bolder perfumes. As a normal consumer, I tend to be angry when I feel betrayed by a label. It is a situation that unfortunately occurs several times in perfumery. I cannot help feeling that I "bought a pig on a poke". Is this an intense version?
This fragrance turns out to be well suited for dating or the work environment. You can even choose it for everyday use. Because of its above-average versatility, it is a fragrance that appears to be good for many different activities.

How do I rate this intense "Le Jour De L'Homme Mûr"?
___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___
- Opening: 8.5 (elegant and stylish)
- DryDown: 7.5 (similar to the opening, but weaker)
- Longevity: 7.0 (up to 5 to 6 hours on my skin, with 2 initial sprays, but less for other skin types)
- Sillage: 6.0 (sillage tip up to arm's length; projection for 1 hour or less)
- Versatility: 9.0 (just avoid extreme cold or heat)
- Ease of use: 9.0 (unisex perfume; very good for almost all social situations, office, general use, dating, and intimacy; do not use in places where you can sweat like the gym or the seaside)
- Praise: 7.0 (it will just get you a few kind compliments, but no one will complain about your smell; on the other hand, it's perfect for intimacy)
- Exclusivity: 6.0 (some notable similarities to Dior Homme and Fahrenheit. This means that it is also similar to all 100 clones and similarities; absolutely no resemblance to La Nuit de L'Homme)
- Quality: 8.5 (I give it a high grade as its linearity is not important to me, but it's a somewhat deceptive achievement for a YSL perfume called "Intense")
- Presentation: 9.0 (beautiful bottle, beautiful lettering, but the same big and light stupid plastic cap)
- Price: 6.0 (€ 59.00 for 100 ml non-tester plus shipping; you can do much better with this amount of money, for example with the purchase of a 200 ml YSL bottle of L'Homme or La Nuit de L'Homme)
___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___
Average: 7.64 / 10.00
between 7 and 8 = above average; But are you sure you want to buy it?
between 8 and 9 = recommended;
greater than 9 = don't miss it;

Opinion on La Nuit de L'Homme L'Intense:
You should save your money and spend it elsewhere unless you want a slightly different version of "Dior Homme" and a non-gasoline-smelling subtler "Fahrenheit", or you want to collect all of the official "La Nuit de L´Homme" flankers!
I like this perfume, but it is totally overpriced and does not live up to the expectations of "La Nuit de L'Homme" lovers. Unfortunately, I bought it blind. :-(
Is it worth buying blind? No!

La Nuit de l'Homme meets Fahrenheit Absolute
Briefly, YSL La Nuit de l'Homme meets Fahrenheit Absolute. Unfortunately not resulting with synergistic effect, because the best features of both perfumes are hidden in this l'Intense. Lavender, cardamom and iris paired with sweet darker notes of tonka and vanilla, but this alcoholic sweetness lacks refinement. Seems this perfume's target groups are more mature 1 Million lovers. Le Parfum version in my opinion is more successful attempt to make La Nuit darker. L'Intense is nothing groundbreaking, and just an average release.

A gorgeous scent, particularly the 1st hour, dries down to a lovely but rather familiar smelling iris (recalling other modern men's frags).
