Always Ultra Hyper
Someone is said to have said of Vivaldi: "He didn't compose 600 songs, but one song 600 times."

In my opinion, this is far too harsh on Vivaldi. He simply has his own distinctive style, but so do other composers. Mozart is also relatively easy to recognize, but nobody would dare to talk about Mozart like that.

So while Vivaldi is being wronged, I have to say: YSL manages to put out the same fragrance over and over again. OK, this one is a little stronger, you have to be a little more careful with the dosage, otherwise it starts to get on your nerves. The Intense, on the other hand, has a bit of a latkritz and absinthe touch, but is otherwise quite similar. It's always the same fragrance DNA with the BOs that I know personally. If you know one, you know them all. Certainly, if you like the DNA, which is the case for me, then you like the fragrance. But you don't need all of them. One, or two from the series would be enough for me.

In my opinion, the most difficult and creative thing is the naming. Extrême, Intense, EdP, le Parfum... Ultra would still be free. Hyper would be something completely new.

My favorite vanilla dream
As soon as this fragrance was announced and I saw the scent notes, I knew I would like it. I love vanilla, and I think the original BO DNA is great, but unfortunately too heavy, too coffee-heavy for me in the long run. When my sample finally arrived and I sprayed it on, I was immediately in love. The Black Opium Le Parfum is the perfection of the BO range. After the first spray, a fruity-sweet coffee explosion hits you. However, the fruitiness quickly fades and gives way to the softer kind of coffee BO DNA that accompanies you for the next 30 minutes. This is followed by what is probably the most beautiful vanilla I have ever smelled, with an addictive factor. Warm, soft, velvety, delicate - not intrusive, but very present, not smoky and yet grown-up, not too sweet and yet sooo delicious. Vanilla perfection rounded off with aromatic, soft coffee notes that do not push themselves to the fore but blend in harmoniously.

I was already looking forward to the coming winter and knew I would be wearing it a lot. But summer had only just begun...
Of course, I couldn't hold out, the bottle has since moved in with me and thanks to the autumnal weather this summer, I've already worn it a lot. It envelops me in a wonderful, delicate cloud of fragrance, and it also seems to go down very well with those around me. To be honest - I also like to spray it on before I go to sleep, it's so nice to drift off into the realm of dreams in this vanilla cloud. I love this fragrance, a new autumn/winter favorite for me.

Edit:
I have to adjust the rating. I'm wearing the fragrance right now, layered with just a little spray of Kenzo Amour and I'm in fragrance heaven. I love both fragrances on their own, but the combination of the two scents is really incredibly beautiful. The cool, autumnal weather can be as stormy as it likes, the gray clouds in the sky can be driven as fast as they like by the cold wind. I'm floating gently towards fall on my warm, soft vanilla cloud of fine white-golden powder... ️

Metamorphosis of a big cat!
I've known and loved Black Opium since the very beginning, and I also thought some of the flankers were good, although the best ones were quickly taken off the market.....why only.....
Now "Le Parfum" has arrived and I had to have it as a Christmas present for myself. And of course the big bottle, because you save money
Arrived today, unpacked, sprayed, speechless........
Where is Black Opium in this lukewarm gourmand?????
You know that green bottle with the scent of macarons by Jeanne Arthes for an apple and an egg, that was probably the inspiration for this murder of a fragrance that costs a lot more money.

A vanilla gourmand with velvet paws where once there were sharp claws. I am so disappointed.
It took four perfumers to completely destroy an extraordinary fragrance.......shame on you!

Love at first sight, fire and flame at second
On the first smelling I thought to myself only: "Beautiful fragrance, I want to have". I perceived a wonderful fruity vanilla scent and thought that was all and that would have been enough for me.

Would have. Far from it. I was surprised. Surprise, surprise!

The fragrance surpasses itself namely in the wearing process. This perfume evolves from the fruity to the gourmandig-creamy vanilla with spicy hints to the almost herbaceous patchouli drydown. I am in love and now wear this fragrance at all times of the day and night because it always fits. It is never too strong, too weak, too sweet, too pungent, but simply soft, gentle, pleasant, portable and freely dosed according to mood.

Ui, I think I need more than 30 ml.

BO'sAutumnVANILLE
I liked Black Opium when I was young, but today I can't stand the original anymore. This overwhelming sweetness throughout, without a break =Never again!
Nevertheless, I ALWAYS test the flankers, waiting for decades for 'KAFFEE. 'Coffee with a little sweetness' that never appears. Now I test them more for nostalgic reasons. YSL's Black Opium Le Parfum landed here as a cute box flacon and it still does something to me to see this flacon, once a great love. So I tested it and yes, as usual it's SWEET. I find the start 'milder' (more bearable) than usual and with cinnamon, which always scores points. The middle is also quite balanced and does not disturb the nose. The typical BO DNA running through it tickles my senses and my brain doesn't quite know how to categorize this fragrance. Not a clear NOGO, but not an instant love either. But then VANILLE. So beautifully multi-faceted and radiant like a mandala of various shades of yellow. From pale to golden yellow, everything is there and a few peaks here and there in darker brown. Coffee? Well - it was also on the table where the mandala was created, cup already empty. I wouldn't buy it because of this milk "coffee", there are better ones and BO was never one of them.
But YES, it's beautiful, I want it (=it's long since moved in here & won't be the last one) and it won't be too much for me, at least not on days like today: autumn wind, everything gray-in-grey & rain. With Black Opium Le Parfum you glow from the inside. If you once liked Secrets d'Essences - Vanille Noire, you will also love Le Parfum. A different or even less(!!!) sweetness and COFFEE would be desirable, but you have Black Opium in your hand or sprayed on...
Recommendation for vanilla junkies.

Mostly vanilla to me. Lots of creamy sweet vanilla, some pear and a dash of coffee. The OG is more complex with stronger coffee IMO.
