LA BOHÈME 2020
if you listen to Charles Aznavour (song of the campaign) then I don't necessarily think of Mon Paris Intensement at first, more about that later.
But first the bottle: it is in the same shape as the other MP flankers but in a magnetically attracting colour including a matching bow and for me it is the most beautiful of the series. A dark magenta-purple, sensual, mysterious, you expect something "heavy". The durability and sillage are good and you should dose carefully even if the intensity is not as intense as you think
Let's get to the fragrance: Mon Paris Intensement (MPI) starts off beery, fruity fresh and next to the berries I can perceive the pear very clearly. This pleasant sweetness increases and becomes rounder in the direction of the heart note. I notice a slight soapiness after about 10 minutes, which is a pleasant counterpart to the fruit. As soon as the flowers take over in the middle part, the sweetness recedes into the background. In warm and humid weather, I also perceive the oily rose described by Igli. In dry, cooler weather, the "pricking" of the datura prevails, just like in the EDP. What I notice at MPI is that the heart note lasts very long, which I appreciate very much. But - and now we come to a shortcoming - unfortunately I perceive little patchouli in the base, benzoin almost not at all :-( There is almost only white musk, so no intensity...
My conclusion: MPI is a successful, modern fragrance and despite its sweetness very well wearable. It has a lot of bang but finally not the intensity I wish or imagined with the addition of intensity. Very sad :-(
Once again to the song: the remix fits (at least instrumentally) to MPI, the young modern bohemian...the bohemian time that Charles Aznavour sings about lyrically would have rather gone for L'heure Bleue ;-)
Well, what do I do? Use the bottle in any case, it is still beautiful even if it lacks depth. And I still have the EDP (Favourite)...and then I think about whether I should not treat myself to the blue hour from the old master Jacques Guerlain :-)
