Like Walking Into A Florist At Midnight
I came across ZARA Bright Rose a couple of years ago, yet I haven't worn it until today. Dense, musky, a riot of tropical flowers and foliage. Quite dreamy, this perfume is very similar to a boudoir. The composition is a modern chypre, and I would consider it a floral oriental with a revisited chypre accord. It is a radiant blend of woods and flowers laid on a masculine earthy base, which immediately moves away from today's clean and gourmand fragrances by introducing a vital amber component. It is a rose garden, drenched in the rain after a spring storm. Sweet, green, and floral, a musky warmed by the sun. If you love the modern chypre genre, you have to try Bright Rose. IThis smells retro to me and reminds me of a couple of fragrances, namely Narciso Rodriguez For Her and Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, especially since the musky notes are soft, smooth and all use purified vetiver and patchouli that blend heavily into the core.

In the beginning, it is fresh, airy, delicate, with a pink background. I don't know how to describe it; it's something mystical, sensual. The bright and sweet rose shines. In the top notes, the perfume dances with light and sparkling steps, evoking the structured tulle fabric's vibrant movement. It feels so spicy; the cinnamon and cumin are cute. The crunchy spiciness embellished with a soft citrus sparkle gives way to the darker heart. It can be overwhelming, especially when you sprinkle it, but then it gives off impulses of sweetness, including something that looks like dripping honey.

Subsequently, musk and amber emerge more, so the scent becomes warmer. To me, this is like a thick, soapy lawn with citrus in the background. Is there any honey somewhere? Maybe yes, amber and sweet white floral. At its core is a spicy floral powder, which blends the warm, earthy notes of rose and honeyed undertones of the lily-of-the-valley with the top's spicy feel. This phase is lighter, more floral, orange blossom-like sweetness, and ethereal. The mellifluous flower note seems to last longer on my skin. The rose has a beautiful tone, it is warm, and it does not overflow into that too dusty territory that some roses can get.

Keep changing so often; I feel distinct notes and various associations coming out. Finally, the dance becomes more intense, stormy and the more angular notes of patchouli and vetiver emerge to create a signature that has contrasts of light and shadow. Bright pink and dark patchouli love and hate each other. The composition has a decadent feel of a silk dress, immersed in the voluptuous musky richness, perfectly evoking the sensation of rubbing raw silk against the cheek. The base is all made up of succulent musks and amber woods. Moss is beautiful and soft, not clean like laundry, and not dirty or animalic, just comforting and enveloping.

Words cannot accurately describe this fragrance. It is transparent, a little translucent, yet very present, comforting, exciting, and occultly enveloping. Very tactile indeed. I recognize that both men and women can wear Bright Rose, on par with Montale's rosy musks. It is a soft fragrance for me and definitely "feminine" on the one hand because it is merely exquisite. Still, there is also a persistent, decidedly "masculine" woodiness and a bit of earthiness. So I can see this fragrance going both ways, from a genre point of view. It's interesting, fascinating. I can smell the smell of patchouli, rose and musk, from the opening until it fades. They don't list it in the notes, but I detect much moss in the background. It lasted almost a day on me, which is very impressive for a cheap perfume from ZARA. Is it a collection of compliments? Absolutely yes. I could see something change in people's eyes once the Bright Rose sillage reached them from my skin. I find it suitable for colder climates, from early autumn to late winter. I wore it to work, but it's great for late afternoon or night outings.

This review is based on a 100ml bottle I own since March 2019.

A very well done clone of Narciso Rodríguez for Her, feminine and sexy but still discrete. Wonderful the new squared bottle and nice price!
