In Istanbul I cut myself on a shell... DO NOT laugh!!!!
Hey guys, welcome to a new comment from me! :)
Today is about "Istanbul" by Zara. Hmm... Istanbul so... one of those cities of which many dream or get romantic thoughts, similar to thinking of cities like Paris and so on. After all, Istanbul is one of the most famous cities in the world. In January of this year I was able to experience Istanbul for the first time for a few days (yes, I know, I am a Turk, but I have never really been there before).
However, I have to say that I still can't really tell much about the city. We were only there for a few days and unfortunately, as the only male member of the group, I was basically forced to carry all the shopping bags I had to squeeze into extremely crowded buses with. That means that instead of sightseeings I actually only saw the most different shopping shops, and as there are not exactly few of them and as I said I had to go everywhere (just because of bags), unfortunately I still can't say that I once saw something of the city... Yes, and once again only the women are to blame for all this, tssss.... :DD
Oh yes, and then, when we sat down at a street bar (to finally take a break, aaaaah!!!), I had also cut myself damn deep on a stupid mussel shell and was even worse on it!!!! That hurt a week, aaaaaaaargh :DD
But well, as I said, my trip to Istanbul wasn't a vacation anyway, but had more to do with errands and stuff. It may be that I will be there for a few days in spring, and this time hopefully also to rest and vacation and also to visit places of interest, but that will be seen :)
So, now I finally come to the scent!
Aaaalso: The fragrance starts a little fresh with citric notes reminiscent of bergamot or lemon. There is also a slightly shower gel-like synthetic, which is not so bad and this fragrance also reminds of many other fragrances of well-known mainstream brands such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Diesel, etc..
Then the fragrance becomes sweeter. This sweetness is nice and smells for me like amber, possibly with light, cinnamon-like additives. Later, the fragrance becomes a little spicier, which I also find quite nice. The citric scents from the beginning have of course completely disappeared later and then it smells mainly of sweet, spicy notes and cinnamon. In the background there is a tart lavender note. The whole thing reminds me a little of the men's fragrance Burberry London for Men, which I also think is pretty great!
So, that was the scent of Istanbul from Zara. And he looked kind of familiar to me. For the most part, it reminded me of Burberry London for Men, especially with its sweet cinnamon scents and lavender notes. Since I think the mentioned Burberry is great, this fragrance has also become very beautiful for me despite its mainstream synthetics and therefore I like it very much. I can imagine that it might seem rather banal and unspectacular to some, but for me it is a good fragrance of the day in autumn and winter, especially around Christmas time, but it could also be used for going out.
I think it might be more difficult to find and test the scent here, but as it smells quite similar to the Burberry, you can also sniff the Burberry! Both fragrances are definitely worth a test.
Hm, only the name Istanbul doesn't seem to really match the fragrance, because it doesn't smell oriental enough. I mean, for a city like Istanbul a fragrance could smell more spicy, or more marine, since Istanbul is also a city by the sea. The fragrance here reminds us more of Christmas themes and therefore does not match the Istanbul theme. If you name a fragrance after a Turkish city, then in my opinion it should smell like Penhaligon's Lothair or Halfeti. But apart from that, the scent has become quite beautiful here :)
Soo... oh yes, the next time I'm in Istanbul, I'm sure I'll clean mussels again, because I just like these things. Why I cut myself at the shell is still a mystery to me today, because that has never happened to me before, argh, but I think I was just worse off, because I was tired and still dragged along, ... Women can be really bad when they go shopping, pooh.... D

The Sillage and the shelf life:
The Sillage is good average and therefore for a while good at a smellable. The shelf life is also very good, so that you can easily smell the scent for eight hours and more. The bottle:
The bottle is clear, has an oval base and is filled with orange scented liquid. The lid is black and cylindrical. There is no label, the name of the fragrance was printed vertically on the bottle. It hasn't turned out to be a particularly great bottle, but simply serves as a container for the fragrance. So, that was the scent of Istanbul from Zara. And he looked kind of familiar to me.
