Basque vetiver freshness
Mundaka - a small former fishing village in the Spanish Basque Country. Worldwide known by - what else - surfing. The 400m wide waves attract athletes from all over Europe. Matching the combination fragrance Teahupoo a surf spot was chosen here again for the naming.
Purchased for 9.99€ in a double pack with Teahupoo via the Zara Onlineshop. One has here for approx. 5€ an 80ml EdT.. may one still expect much there? Despite the low price I had a certain expectation due to the fragrances. I have not been disappointed by Zara so far and here it should be a revelation again.
The fragrance starts with a very strong citrus note including bergamot. After a short time, an aquatic heart note comes to the fore, which is quite white to please. Matching the Basque surf spot. What follows is a fresh, earthy vetiver note that dominates the rest of the fragrance. The whole thing pollinates the rest of the room for 20 minutes before remaining relatively close to the skin for another 2-3 hours. From this point on, the spray should be applied again. With this price and Zara's experience, this was to be expected and poses no problem.
Recommended for hot summer days and, due to the P/L ratio, an alternative to the citrus scents normally found. The vetiver freshness is perfect at high temperatures and fits into the Basque image of Mundaka. The shelf life on the skin is of course not the bang and the Sillage starts a little too penetrating, but this is to be borne with the price. The deep blue bottle is also very summery, reminiscent of the high waves before Mundaka.
