Ascetic grounding, earthy scent with a bit of smoldering
ZARA Noble Palo Santo may be a more intense psychedelic experience, such as psilocybin or ayahuasca, where the shaman allows us to purity with palo santo before entering the ceremony space. Like a velvet couch or cashmere pajama pants, the scent is cozy. It’s smoky and piney and, if you march around the perimeter of your apartment with it, the whole place will soon smell faint, yet powerfully, woodsy, like a spring hike after a rainstorm. Much of the palo santo popularity comes from the rich aroma with notes of pine, mint, and lemon. Some consider the smell to resemble baked apples or burnt sugar. The tree is part of the citrus family related to frankincense and myrrh, which is more than pleasant… it’s healing.
Just out of the bottle, for a short while, it might remind Zara Vibrant Leather or Aventus Creed, the citrus pineapple vibe is real, is there. Yet soon the citrus kumquat and the spicy black pepper appear, and the resemblance fades away leaving room to a totally different scent, so closely akin to yet so miles apart. It is warm and earthy with the slightest hints of coconut, mint, and citrus, it smells, well, heavenly.
What a magic surprise, this is a really strong release. the pepper is a bit tingly at first especially smelt up close but let it subside and the drydown is where this scent comes alive. the pepper mellows out and melds beautifully into the unique scent of palo santo wood and an infusion of citrus, which lifts the whole composition with much-needed freshness.
“Isn’t it heavenly?” ... “Yeah, it is. It’s a Palo Santo.” Once you know what palo santo wood smells like, you notice it everywhere. I must admit that I've never smelt it alone, yet what I got from this scent is awesome. If you are anything like me, you will google it, and order a bunch of sticks from Amazon just to burn and smell the pure essence of that holy wood. Not coincidentally, it’s beloved among the high-vibe crowd in New York and L.A. But while it’s trending, it’s far from new. Palo Santo carries with it an energizing freshness yet can be sometimes overwhelming when over-applied. But ZARA Noble Palo Santo, while keeping the soul of the original ingredient, is built around a warm and comfortable accord through the addition of spices such as cloves and nutmeg, woods like Cedarwood, and the dark resinous like frankincense.
The dry down allegedly contains some amber and perhaps a dose of comforting ISO-E super, leaving a trail that is ambery, floral, woody, spicy, and leathery. and will bring a warm, sensual and inviting perfumed sensation. Examining it closer once applied you will notice a lingering quality of softer fragranced aromatic, herbal and balsamic hints that hide an essence of romantic, comforting and mysterious feelings.
Ultimately, in my opinion, ZARA Noble Palo Santo is velvety, woody, dry, amber, old-wood, lemony. I feel like wearing it during the cold season, late summer night and muggy fall days are a perfect time. It is suitable for an office day but even for a lazy stroll outside, during the evening out and dinner with mates.
