VL DNA, but different somehow
A challenging fragrance, a little different from what the original Vibrant Leather proposes. Unlike his firstborn, he has a sour aura (in a good way).
Not that it is a challenge as a vintage or powerhouse fragrance, but by current standards, Parfum de Liberté is quite a challenge, and will catch noses off guard and attracted by the color of its bottle (which lives up to its aroma: green ).
The perfume opens with a very acidic grapefruit and an herbal touch. It's a green, but with a soft citrus touch like VL. But it comes with Nepalese pepper and leather. Pepper and grapefruit give a smell that recalls something like a tea, made from the herb, which resembles a bitter tea (imagine patchouli, earthy, herbal, mixed with the smell of a mint tea). The leather here, it's a vinyl jacket, reminds the smell of a synthetic leather jacket on the way out, and then it evolved into something more suede. It has a slight roughness too. When the starting grapefruit gets milder, the fragrance is taken by pepper and leather, remaining very bitter, dirty.
Another surprising factor of the fragrance is its performance. Fixation that easily surpasses 6h, projection for at least one to two hours. The performance (a gap in the entire VL line) improves a little on my skin.
I didn't have great expectations for this one, mainly because of the number of flankers that were released. But he easily got over it. It is one of the best fragrances launched by Zara in 2021, without a doubt.
