One of the Zara fragrances!
I have to write a comment for Zara - Vibrant Leather Winter today. After two weeks of endurance test and numerous compliments I can't help it.
Normally I am not often asked about my worn scent... but what is going on here with Vibrant Leather Winter? At work, several colleagues said "You smell good!" and even after 8 hours at home, I was approached by my family about it.

At the beginning I found him good, not pushy, reserved and very pleasingly fresh. That's why I wore it continuously for two whole weeks. Just fits perfectly in many situations. Full everyday life and suitable for work.
But from day to day I have found it even more enjoyable. Which of course is not least because of the compliments ... who doesn't like that. ;)

The fragrance starts out fresh, citrusy and slightly fruity, but soon has a woody grassy note that lingers quite long in the middle. After a while, it moves on to sandalwood with a very light smoky undertone, but the grassy freshness never disappears completely. And this seems to be perceptible for quite a long time, even though I don't smell much of it myself anymore. I have never been told that with any other fragrance before.

Nevertheless, it has no Monster Sillage and later lies quite close to the body. Just a great everyday scent and definitely stands out Vibrant Leather for me.

Almost everyone can wear it because of its fresh character. Whether young or old. And you could almost recommend it for the whole year, even if it is called winter. But because of its slightly smoky, woody base it fits best into the somewhat colder days
Anyway, the 19,95€ are more than well invested and I can only recommend it. I will probably put another one in the cupboard as a reserve ;)

Conclusion: With the purchase and especially at this price nobody is doing anything wrong for me. You get a super pleasing and easy to like everyday scent that almost everyone can wear. Good thing!

Effing the Ineffable
If we want to approach the theme of perfume and the metaphysical fruitfully, we must first look at the two terms that the theme brings together: perfume and intangible. A work of essence that arouses ineffable emotion is, in this sense, a successful fragrance work, one that has crossed the barrier from artistic nothingness into the realm of aesthetic value. Only a minority of works do it. And for me, ZARA Vibrant Leather Winter is beyond expression, too big for words, inexpressible, as the language of the perfumer who brings us closer to naming what is ineffable. Jerome Epinette with Vibrant Leather Winter has managed to eff what is indescribable. It’s a fragrance that exudes strength and magnificence translated through the best notes and sensations.

Are you still convinced that ZARA produces mediocre perfumes? Well, this perfume is proof that ZARA, relying on the expert hands of renowned perfumers, can make perfumes inspired by the most famous design brands or niche, at a reasonable price and of excellent quality. First, when we judge a fragrance, we should consider several aspects. For example, many often people complain about performance. Considering that with €10 up to €25 (€29 for some latest news), we take home an EDT or even a 100 / 120ml EDP; I don’t see what the problem is reapplying it if it seems to have vanished. No more chatter, as I wanted to disclose in the title, Vibrant Leather Winter is an ineffable perfume. I immediately started looking after I saw it posted on the official ZARA website. Master Jerome Epinette and the few notes mentioned immediately caught my attention. Alerted by some reviews read and some YouTubers, I was expecting a Déjà vu of the original Vibrant Leather, and therefore yet another clone of Creed’s Adventus, but no.

So, Friday afternoon after work, I went for a stroll in the centre of Milan and went into the first ZARA store I met. The perfume was there, in plain sight, a dark packaging between blue and green that praises “A warm perfume for the cold Winter” with the dedication of the perfumer on the back, magnetic cap, exhibited among the other Vibrant Leather metal flankers just launched on the market. I looked for the tester, immediately sprayed it on my skin, and after a few moments, I smelled it, convinced that a fruity explosion of tropical pineapple invaded me. But no, a stunning, nearly balmy and resinous accord crept into my nose. Wonderful! I instantly thought of the classic Vibrant Leather, and honestly, I found nothing in the opening that reminded me of it. I bought it without hesitation. Less fruity and citrus than Vibrant Leather, here the wet, herbal bamboo's tone and the dry, earthy papyrus'a taste make the enchantment!

And the thing is not that I mind; at least I have in my hands a new perfume that is not redundant in my collection, not a clone of a clone. But let’s try to see what I feel on my skin. As soon as I spray it, especially on the paper strip, I can feel very sharp citrus notes, typical of lemon peel. They are pleasant, fresh, juicy, tart, natural and ain't synthetic, like the splashes of oil drops that sprinkle on your face when you squeeze a lemon fruit. However, on my skin, the perfume yields with greenish, smoky, and balsamic tones; perhaps, the body’s heat immediately aids releasing that aroma. I can, right off the bat, feel the leather vein, a dry, delicate leather, softened by the union with the precious and sweetish woods. A watery accord joins the concoction thanks to the green and wet bamboo. I reckon a tad of sour and crisp green apple, something akin to Boss Bottled opening even though they are not in the same ballpark. I would define this initial phase with citrus, balmy, and fruity character.

Vibrant Leather Winter goes on in the heart with a more leathery and aromatic aspect. A leather with a soft, suede, delicate soul plays with dusty lavender, and I still feel the aquatic atmosphere, but nothing too marine or salty. When the bamboo rises, bleanded with the other citrus and fruity note, a vibe similar to wet ash comes out, which is stupendous to me. I haven’t compared the classic Vibrant Leather and Winter edition side by side, so I can’t say anything about the similarity, but I love this one the more it strengthens in the middle phase.

With a woody and luxurious touch, Vibrant Leather Winter brings an Indian sandalwood base. It intertwines its creamy and tender side with a drier papyrus, here it smells aromatic, woody, a little dry, earthy and spicy touch, which reveals an all too papery and slightly pencil-sharpening atmosphere. If you are aquainted with Versace's Dylan Blue, the papyrus accord is similar. In the final, I perceive smells of what I like to call black amber, not overly sweet, but resembling the darker and deeper ambroxan. I dare to define this last scene as woody, slightly dry, very pleasant.

Ultimately, it is now mid-September; the weather is still quite warm and humid, so I cannot express my impression of the behaviour on bitter days. However, the overall result looks perfect for fall and winter workdays and leisure evenings out with friends. The sillage is below average and calms down after an hour. Longevity is average, half a day before turning into a leather scent. Its luxury and elegance indicate the scope and intense magnetism of this fragrance that shows how feverish and enveloping it is. ZARA and master Jerome Epinette hit the mark again!

This review bases upon a 120ml (4.2 Fl. oz) bottle I own since September 2020.

Vibrant Leather is back!
In 2017 I bought my first bottle of Vibrant Leather. I was simply thrilled. Over time, the perfume changed radically, and I was pretty disappointed with the 2020 version. Yesterday I received my order and I could hardly believe it, Vibrant Leather is back, now under the name "Winter". Thanks Jerome Epinette, the old formula is still the best formula
