Really, not driving me crazy at all...
ZIRH brand is little known here in Italy, at least I was not aware of it. Actually, I was browsing an online retailer of fragrances and came across some ZIRH scents, namely Ikon, Ikon Pure, and this Classic. Since they were all offered at a very ridiculous price, let's say between 10 and 20 euros, I did not hesitate and blindly ordered all the three of them. I was attracted by fragrance notes of each, and reviews were nearly good,.. Unfortunately, I overlooked Corduroi and I fear I missed a good chance to get that jewel, either.
Well, it's almost middle of summer here in Italy, and the temperature is about 30° C, but this morning it was pretty cloudy and there was a pleasant smell of rain in the air, so I decided to wear Ikon Classic.
IC opens citrusy and peppery, and to my nose it seems like something minty is in there. It gives a vibe of a sweet citrusy scent with some faintly metallic background, lighter than Davidoff Echo.
After few minutes, coriander and cardamom pop up, together with the spicy note of the nutmeg. Again, to my nose it seems like there is a secret floral-fruity tart undertone, even though not mentioned anywhere. On the plus side it does have a watery vibe that is not as assertive as in other aquatic scents.
I didn't get any ginger or nutmeg note, The evolution of this scent seems to skip from the top notes directly to the base ones. A touch of suede closes the musky round, and dries down to an animal scent that is very close to the skin. Again, ain't no patchouli nor cedar-wood that capture my nostrils.
This is a very work-friendly, inoffensive daytime cologne that doesn’t last an eternity on the skin – and sometimes that’s a good thing. Longevity wise, on skin, it is a bit weak. By noon it has become a skin scent. However, if you sprayed on your shirt, it smells better and longer too. By 6pm, I can still smell it on my shirt and occasionally I can still smell it when the wind blows. But it's all about dark musk.
Actually, this fragrance is targeted for younger men, woodsy notes are almost undetectable,., but the scent itself is very light, forgettable and probably would be a good choice for office during spring and summer days.
