Polaroid picture of a summer
And then summer has moved on with all the images of the orchards, the light of the limes inside the pears, flickering like Super 8 films. Carelessly, they almost graze your eyes before they fade away in silver glowing threads of cardamom in your thoughts, in a moment of white fading on a jasmine petal.
Polaroid photos will now develop in warm colors of the filled haylofts, the spicy fragrant golden grasses, the tiny sugar crystals on them, the vanilla fibers swirling in the sun, in the light beams dripping like amber on the sweating wooden barrels with the remains of rum and cloves crushed to dust on the dry earthy floors. Time paints more sweet sepia brown on the images of your memory.
**
Michael Salazar from San Diego, California, places great importance on creating fragrances that are different, that don't conform to clichés. All his creations are made by hand, drop by drop, as he himself writes, and contain high proportions of natural ingredients.
for me, "Immortal Lust" is like an idealized memory of summers gone by. For a few moments, there are fresh, almost faded citrus fruits, the shimmering flesh of a pear, a few currants, which fade into a bright jasmine blossom in a spicy idea of ginger and cardamom. Then the immortelle becomes clear, hay-like and spicy, embedded in sweet myrrh, individual sugar crystals, amber and dark vanilla. At first, a hint of rum shimmers in the air, evaporated by dark, rather dry woods that lend more depth to the amber colors with earthy patchouly, while cloves form a bitter-spicy counterbalance, protecting the fragrance from too much sweetness. The result is a wonderful, rather restrained, moderate summer fragrance that can be enjoyed for several hours.

Interesting multifaceted mature wintery blend - floral, spicy, semi-sweet
Sampling Aromas de Salazar Immortal Lust, a spicy, floral, semi-sweet blend that blends a strong floral heart of jasmine sambac and immortelle with an assortment of citruses and spices in the opening and a multifaceted base dominated by resins and woods. It’s strong and complex, apt for cooler weather, and feels very formal and likely more targeted for advanced, mature noses. The main standout notes for me are jasmine, immortelle, lime, cardamom, myrrh, rum, birch, vanilla, and sugar. It does not land particularly sweet, despite starting out sharper and drying down smoother, as is the normal pattern. It remains highly interesting throughout its lifespan, though, and I enjoy the smoothing over as it dries down.

It’s priced at $175 for 50ml, roughly the average for the house, and particularly considering its nuances and exceptional performance, that’s very reasonable in the current market, in my opinion.

Overall, I quite like this fragrance but need some more time to unravel it, but I absolutely recommend that others try it. Some might very well regard this is as the crowning achievement of the house to date.

Warm, honeyed, round and enveloping, slightly smokey and spicy. The pear and ginger add a really interesting dimension.
