the olfactory equivalent of dungeon synth

I am still getting to know Heresy from Chapel Factory but I believe it is fast becoming one of my Holy Grail scents. It is the sharp green metallic floral of violet leaf, mingled with cool aromatic cedar, lofty sandalwood, and the smoked leather notes of vetiver; elements which alchemize into the austere elegance and kindred glooms of a dry, peppery violet incense. If you like the dark ambiance and nocturnal aesthetic of dungeon synth coupled with spectral visionary Simon Marsden's black and white photographs of haunted ruins and moonlit abbeys, this is a transportive scent that will spirit you away to those eerie, ominous realms.

Chapel Factory / Heresy

Heresy- it is quite strong in opening (pepper), very aromatic resin-woody smell. On the one hand, you can feel the burning resins - quite dark and smoky incense ... yes, it's church incense (whatever you want to call it), and on the other - after about an hour, even more balsamic and fresh resins come. There is plenty of wood here - sandalwood, cedar (you can feel conifers) and guaiac wood. After time, you can feel the balmyness of the resin, and the fragrance has been broken with a floral motif - we have violet leaves here, which soften this strong impact and the dark atmosphere of the church at dusk. In addition, there are notes of vetiver, which additionally smooth this sound. What will be a disadvantage for some, an advantage for others - the fragrance settles quite quickly (after an hour for me) on the skin, where its durability reaches 5-6 hours. This may be his downside.
Perfume from 2020. Personally, I recommend it .... a really good perfume, especially for the price.
