Just go for its Arabian alter ego.
I would find it hard to understand why someone would pick "Leather Forever" over De Gabor's "Leather Forever - Arabian Edition" masterpiece. The latter is considerably more enjoyable and multifaceted, while still being a through-and-through leather perfume more than anything else.

This one here has an abundance of leather, a high quality black car seat leather. Gabor's leather accord is one of the most realistic I have come across in the industry. But other than that this juice needs more pizzazz. Moreover, it has this oily 'latrine' note which to me personally makes the whole mix slightly off-putting. The lovers of unapologetic animalic scents might fervently disagree.

see you leather
Opens up with a prominent saffron leatherish note ( as mentioned before saffron here loses its oriental connotation becoming somehow dark) and some cinnamon .Leather evolves into a more powdery and smoky heart. Oud marks then transition to an animalic ( and gently balanced castoreum)and powdery base.
On the overall performance and sillage are noticeably good .Composition is quiet pleasing but lacks originality .
Despite a very sparkling opening it settles into something very solid and unfortunately less complex than the amount of notes declared.(Matter of skin PH??? ......)

Leather Forever, but must it be this one?
Oh what I was curious about this scent, the first statements sounded as if this was a pure leather scent; leather with leather and leather again, just the way we (let's say at least I) like it. The name of the perfume said enough. Then I saw it in the souk and took the opportunity. While composing the fragrance, I hoped for a leather grail rather than just one

The opening is clearly marked by the saffron. This blend smells so completely different from the usual leather-saffron mixture, the saffron is less warm and spicy, less racy. This is probably due to the rather dark leather or leather tone that has been used here. It is also due to the truffle, in this case the black truffle. The black truffle smells musky, like musk and around these nuances the leather also smells influenced. This opening is not for the faint hearted. But what seems to be massive at first, remains a bit dull, a bit monotonous.
At some point, the oud also comes out, which always stood out but had little to oppose the earthy notes. It still remains earthy but you can clearly see the difference between mushroom/truffled "earthiness" and patchouli. Patchouli adds a certain sweetness to the leather, sandalwood may also help there.
Unfortunately I was hardly allowed to notice birch, which is a great pity. Both in tar form and as a simple birch this would have been an enrichment.
All this is permanently underlined by animal notes. Light resin scents are also sublimely present - if you know what I mean. Here I have to say that leather plus resin goes much better, much more intense and fragrant as well as multi-faceted. This is also true for most of the other ingredients in combination with leather, which seems to be the credo of Leather Forever, at least if I may put it that way.
So that was my experience with Leather Forever. I had hoped for more, I have to say. After the first test I was excited, too. The more often I wore this fragrance, the more it didn't excite me after all. Do you perceive everything and is this fragrance high quality? Absolutely! If you are looking for an alternative to leather-saffron-raspberry, or if you think saffron is too much for you, you should test it here, despite what I said.
From the first impression towards tires, engine oil and workshop, after sufficient occupation with the scent, nothing remains.
That's it and now I'm back to my catchy tune from the Leather Girls:

"Leather forever, I'll be testing
Everlasting, like the sun
Live forever, for the Leather
Ever searching for the one"
Because my search didn't end here.

Initially spicy-rubbery and dark, a dry and dusty, animalic spicy-leathery Winter fragrance, on a warm and musky earthy-woody base.
