The Real Kinam Rouge, for me...
Guallam Kilam by Ensar Oud.
According to Ensar, this oil is Nha Trang, Taiwanese distillation. Does that make it an Oriscent distillation? I can only address that with my nose. And the answer is YES. Every time I swipe it, I regret not purchasing more when it was available. For me, it is up there with many Oriscents and was offered at half that price. It is complex, satisfying, rather unique, and has that Oriscent vaporous/powdery fingerprint all over it.
You get that earthy, slightly bitter, medicinal, and green Nha Trang wood aroma in the base, and much more happening on top of that. A big cloud of vanilla powder tingles the nostrils in the opening and lingers for a while. As it dissipates, red flickers that smell like cherries start to humm underneath. Sweet hay with a bit of that lingering powdery quality opens the way for the tobacco leaves in the heart. The red cherries burst in full display now and you get this breathtaking cherry-flavored tobacco accord. Clean and smooth, with no rough edges. This accord becomes quite strong and stays for a while before dimming out. In the dry down, the oil settles on this Nha Trang wood bed with faint musky qualities.
It's an amazing oil. Not quite as "wise" yet as Nha Trang LTD. And far better than Kinam Rouge. Honestly, this is what Kinam Rouge should have been. It showcases a vertical development with a broad color spectrum spanning yellow, brown, green, golden, red, and gray.
