the Mandrake from Café Winuwuk
The worth reading comment of Stanze about the fragrance sister "Mandragore" reminded me of two things:
of my bottling "Mandragore Pourpre" and of my old Mandrake.
I found the bottling quite quickly in all my sample bottles; the mandrake made it harder.
With patience, I discovered it in a place where I had not suspected it: it had probably moved there because of the elaborate construction and painting work.
Now "Mandrake" is only the upper piece of a former whole: a long neck with a head that has a hippo-like nose and wears a tuft of fiery red hair. (The nose resembles that of a hippopotamus - that's right!)
The other half: two "legs" had broken off at some point and were probably lost later.
Annoying, because mandrakes should not only be treated well, but also better kept if you have them.
The red "mop of hair" you can see in any case many hours in different handbags.
I still remember that my mom bought this mandrake for me many years ago in the "Café Winuwuk", above Bad Harzburg.
The very bizarre building with the associated round "Sonnenhof" (here art exhibitions take place), is located above the city of Bad Harzburg, in the so-called "Elfeneck", an area between Breitenberg and Elfenstein. (There live also the not exactly poor Bad Harzburger!)
The property on the edge of the forest was acquired by an artist and art lovers community; among other things, the cookie manufacturer Bahlsen belonged to them at the time.

A coffee or tea break in the quaint café or on the terrace already has its own charm!
Anyway, from there, more precisely from the "Sonnenhof" the complete mandrake came to me and is now next to the mini atomizer "Mandragor Pourpre" by Annick Goutal.
I encounter here a very spicy fragrance that opens with the distinct aroma of star anise.
Mint I can unfortunately, contrary to the impressions of other Parfumisti, not discover.
It is so clearly star anise, as our existing mutual dislike!
But here the edges and corners are skillfully sanded down by bergamot and a wonderfully spicy rosemary (my balcony is full of it!): star anise adapts!
The dark purple floral splendor of vanilla-like warmly scented heliotrope, unites harmoniously with this entrée, before black pepper is generously added.
A fresh, possibly even slightly pungent perceived spice thus arises.
Patchouli, with its gentle sensual radiance and very generously dosed, probably medium-dark incense, complete an interesting fragrance composition.
Originally, I had expected a sweetish creation; however, I do not know why!
So Stanzes comment made me want to test this Annick Goutal fragrance for myself: I have not regretted it!
The durability is within the framework of the known A.G. fragrances; the scent of "Mandragore Pourpre" is thereby quite long perceptible; the individual fragrance notes are even after some time still well recognizable.
However, they slowly become finer: a delicate spicy touch surrounds me at the end!
The familiar, so beautifully feminine flacon also fits this fragrance very well.
Thus, "Mandragore Pourpre" is possibly even a candidate for my collection; I will keep him in any case very pleasant in memory and on the watch list.
If only because he helped find the good piece of mandrake.
