Lights Forest
This scent comes and goes and does what it wants. He changes his shades and has an iridescent being all day long.
Goutal's scents are taken here quite polarizing. I'm sure they never are: boring and impersonal. All fragrances have at least interested me so far and many have inspired me.
Ninfeo Mio is a fragrance that has something very personal for me. I keep coming back to him and still don't like to call him signature scent. But somehow he lacks significance. Yet it has substance in all its freshness and volatility.
I smell more forest than meadow: a dark green transparency. It is not a light green scent. After all the warm fig and citrus freshness (which never has anything to do with the dreaded detergent note!), there remains a base of slightly bitter forest honey with a minty undertone. Nuit Etoilee's little sister? The exciting thing about Ninfeo Mio is the change between warmth and freshness. For me, an absolutely feminine scent. He will never be liked by everyone, he accompanies me and I am very happy about it!

quiet splashing in the marble basin
In the middle of the Hesperides grove, a spring gurgles, clear and pure, refreshing and surely originally dedicated to an ancient goddess.
For a marble fountain-house was built over it; so that the spring ripples into an oval water-beaker, and its welcome wet is thus caught and not immediately lost.
This "nymphaeum" is my refuge from the heat of the day; it is cool there, and a refreshing moisture invites one to linger there.
There is a hint of earth and aromatic green in the air, the spring water tastes just as earthy and slightly mineral. A wonderful refreshment, completely without bottle carrying and waste.
Already the way there is an invigorating freshness pleasure. Old lemon and orange trees form pleasant foliage shade; now and then there is also an old gnarled fig among them.
All of them already bear fruit; it won't be long before lemons and bitter oranges can be harvested, as well as the numerous sweet figs.
But still bright green, yellow and orange fruits hang on the citrus trees, the green thick ovaries on the fig trees will grow fast and become sweet and juicy kissed by the sun.
Nature here richly bestows her fruity treasures.
There is a balmy freshness in the air, as even the foliage, shimmering in varying shades of green, and the warm wood of the trees breathe life and fragrance.

Camille Goutal and Isabelle Doyen skilfully and with a light hand draw this summery impression with their fragrance "Ninfeo mio".
They conjure this invigorating atmosphere with all its fragrances and vibes in one of their beautiful glass flacons, so sensual.
Before they still add with much feeling dosed Galbanum; a bit of resinous spice deepens this light cooling fragrance robe and provides it with fine tips of golden-brown resin.

"Ninfeo mio" is my latest discovery from the house of Annick Goutal.
I owe this charming acquaintance to Marieposa, who put a bottling of it in my fragrance letter with the tasting Guerlain scents.
She knows about my fondness for Annick Goutal's fragrances and thus has given me a great pleasure.
Because so I could test this summery, delicately spicy and invigorating fragrance water and spend with him the first hot day of this summer in the cool fruit-bearing tree shade and my own "Nymphaeum".
Sillage and longevity are appropriate for a summer scent; also, repeated re-sprays offer a renewed sense of invigorating freshness.
For years, I have had no problems with these idiosyncrasies of Annick Goutal fragrances; they are like that!

"Ninfeo mio" is a magical companion with everything I expect from a summer flirt.
We are sure to spend entertaining days together; the conditions are unreservedly in place.
"Allora! Vieni al mio ninfeo, Carissimo!"

Fresh verves
My grandma lives in a small village in the south of France. When I was a little child, I visited her every year. The house stands directly in a curve and despite the direct street proximity one hears extremely rarely a car passing by. On the other side of the house is my grandma's beloved rose garden. Every time I call there is a report about the flowers and trees growing in the middle of green meadows (you have to know that this village contains only 6 houses despite the larger total area). Most holy to her are the different roses.

But Ninfeo Mio does not smell like roses. Ninfeo Mio smells like verve. When I got a bit older, instead of hot chocolate, we always had verve tea. On the hot days we didn't dare leave the stone house until late in the evening and eat baguette with boiled ham and Comté. My grandma always boils the tea freshly and serves it in a noble white teapot The tea is of course citric, but also tastes somehow green and simply fresh. That's exactly how this perfume smells. A little sweeter, a little creamier, but verveine. The freshly boiled Verveine tea of my grandma, brewed in a white teapot.

Yuck - Never again
Hello, after reading the mostly positive comments, I was quite curious about the fragrance, especially since the lemony ingredients are very much in my direction - I thought.

In the beginning a slightly fresh note was noticeable, very short, very light. Then came an artificial, quite pungent smell that was difficult to put into words and that settled down. After some time I had the feeling to be squeezed into a coconut, while a cheerful monkey enthusiastically drums around on it and swathes of coconut smell pushed themselves into my nostrils. A pungent, unpleasant coconut-like smell, which had nothing fresh, nothing green and nothing pleasing at all, but was only boring and penetrating. I don't know whether fig or galbanum smells like that, for me it stank and I had trouble washing it off, because it is already durable.

Never again. I really think that's where the divorce comes in. I love Annick Goutal's "Eau d'Hadrien", the "Eau du Sud" is not bad, a bit too bitter. But this was for me a smell, with which one is annoyed certainly by nobody ;-) - at least the way he smelled at me

Lovely Green Garden & No Flowers!
I have been searching high & low for a green scent to call my own, and Ninfeo Mio rings all the right bells. It just on the femme side of unisex. It's also NOT a floral bomb, NOT a oakmoss beast, and NOT a balmy resin ... which IS what most green scents are all about ... and why I don't wear them.

It's very difficult to classify Ninfeo Mio, because it's not a typical feminine. It seems to be an aromatic, with it's fleeting citrus opening and leafy heart. As it dries down, I get more woods -- I can sense a tree ... the twigs, the branches, maybe even a little bark. I also get a watery accord, not the dry impression that others report.

Overall, Ninfeo Mio lives up to its namesake as a formal garden, complete with lush hedges, fruit & nut bearing trees, and water features, which is also a way to say that it's not a flower garden. For floral-phobs, I would say this scent is a must-try.

Like most AGs, I find the sillage to be minimal and the longevity less than stellar. Given the uniqueness of this fragrance, I forgive it. I often have trouble wearing cedar & lavender accords in masculines, but I have no trouble with this scent.

HINT: Seek out this rectangular bottle which is typically used for the masculines, rather than than the pretty AG bottles typically used for the feminines, and you will save some cash. ;)

Beautiful fig scent with a sweet ending. It drives me instantly to my childhood, where I played with my friends under a big fig tree.
