Lovely vegetal blend--fresh, green, spicy
Happyland Wunderland is an early 2022 release and perhaps the best vegetal scent I’ve ever smelled, a fragrance that actually smells like vegetables (and mixed elements of the outdoors) but in a way that’s elegant and wearable, and, unsurprisingly, green and fresh. The actual note listing consists (in full) of mint, myrrh, green notes, oakmoss, vetiver, orange blossom, and ambergris. It’s certainly fresh and green, but has a spicy sharpness via the mint/ambergris that makes it quite unique, and distinguishable from, say, Gaelic Mist, which is sweeter and has a prominent GIT-like violet note. Wunderland, on the other hand, opens with a sort of blended sharpness (not strictly floral, woody, or spicy) and dries down more comfortable over the first couple of hours of wearing. It might be a little bit striking at first but in the dry down I’d argue it’s comforting, natural, and balanced.
It’s perhaps the most unique of the fresher / warm-weather-leaning offerings in the Happyland catalogue, and with the same great performance and pricing ($57/44 for 50/30ml) of the line that I’ve come to expect.
