A beast

This is the reason why samples exist - Crystal Saffron is NOT a safe blind buy. Don’t let the comparisons to BR540 fool you: while it does have some common notes, it is a very different animal. And I mean “animal” in more than one way. I had a visceral negative reaction to a point where this fragrance made me sick. I can’t get this beast off from my wrist even with the dish soap. It has nuclear projection and tenacity. Oh my! And I am not among the fainthearted when it comes to perfume.

If you don't like saffron " move on, if you like saffron "come closer" !

Hello everyone,

a few words late today about Crystal Saffron Eau de Parfum !

It is 1:1 as said in the headline ;) !
For years, this one fragrance has divided our community into 2 camps, those who like it and those who don't like it. Meaning those who like this fragrance, I can recommend it to them and the others, I recommend the following - give it a "wide berth"!
You have to like saffron, otherwise the fragrance doesn't work!
But saffron as a fragrance is not (just the one) saffron!

What do I mean by this?

There is a kind of saffron that is in a certain way like most of us know it, and here I am talking about the fully synthetic saffron (e.g. Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum) or the quasi semi-synthetic ones like Crystal Saffron Eau de Parfum or e.g. "Oud for Greatness | Matière". the Oud for Greatness or the Ishq and it only mentions the non-synthetic and better saffron (the real one) from the X Saffron in passing.

This one is very cooling, not very sweet and, like Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum, has this really amazing performance
Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum has this hospital and dentist vibe, which is much less (annoying) here! For me, a very good further development of Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum and absolutely UNISEX with (for me) a tendency towards masculinity.

Really good price for the overall package!

Saffron and Saffron

We are living a new perfume era. Once the Aventus thing has gone, now we’re living the Baccarat Rouge era, where everything gets inspired by that.

Everything that has saffron reminds of BR like pineapple aventus, but not everything is necessairly the same.

Crystal Saffron has a bright sparkling and citrousy opening, while the drydown gets close to BR540 with that pungent middle eastern saffron note, metallic, modern and molecular.

It’s different enough to have both, as this hasn’t that cloying sweetnes but yeah, this starts to get a bit boring.

Anyways, i really like it, but i’m sure in some years this will be forgiven like all the aventus-like stuff.

Dental practice saffron as it is written in the book

Some love it, others hate it: saffron. And Crystal Saffron is a concentrated load of it. Sterile, spicy, leathery - this fragrance presents its namesake note in abundance. The former in particular is intensified and emphasized by a lot of synthetics, which gives the fragrance an absolute niche character despite the relatively manageable composition of notes. The spicy facet of Greek saffron is reminiscent of the dish tahdig, whereby not only the saffron but also the rice crust resonates. The lack of sweetness is also a refreshment from the mostly sweet interpretations of saffron such as Ishq.
In terms of longevity and sillage, it can be said that the fragrance lasts and, above all, projects well.
Since I love saffron, this fragrance is a holy grail for me and therefore a recommendation to all saffron aficionados.

Sweet and synthetic

I fell in love with the fragrance.

However, he is so strong and intense that he just annoys you after the time.

He is so strong that I had to go shower, simply because it was too much!
The scent is beautiful yes! However, extremely synthetic.

The saffron scent is really very sweet and warm. In the background, it is very woody, you smell to the something creamy and leather.

All this results in a beautiful fragrance but at some point causes me a headache.
I know that Matiere Priemiere have thought of something, but this fragrance is unfortunately not quite mine.
