Can bread be sexy?
Panettone - We all know this Italian cake in the form of a bundt cake, which is very fluffy on the inside and has less of the firm cake-like consistency of a sponge cake. In recent years, this sweet or dessert can also be found in German supermarkets for every festive season. The huge boxes are often a feast for the eyes...
Well, I discovered the scent - a victim of social networks - through a video of a young lady who described the scent as absolutely delicious. I was just in the right mood and placed a blind order, because the idea of panettone really turned me on fragrance-wise.

Today it came to me and I can hardly describe my impressions. Some profumos have already described the fragrance as strange. In fact, I can hardly think of anything else off the top of my head. Such a strange fragrance!
The opening is orangey, but also a little stale, like an orange aroma that has been forgotten in the cupboard for at least three years. That sounds rather off-putting, but it actually is only to a limited extent and for a very short time. Then comes the smell of bread. Little sweetness, I see yeast pastries with a slightly too brown crust. The sweetness is there, but it creeps in from time to time, subtle yet perceptible. The candied orange peel says hello and beckons. Rum and vanilla also play a part. But all of this is delicate and floating, flashing out again and again, not stuffy or sticky.

For me, the fragrance is a great surprise. Not easy to wear, very special. It is very subtle, but extremely noticeable and present on my skin. I always want to smell it on me, I find it very sexy and different. I've never smelled anything like it before.

The bottle is heavy and bright blue. I'm fascinated by the sprayer, because it gives off a good surge of the finest fragrance mist. You just want to spray it around you. It's my first fragrance from Milano Fragranze, perhaps all of the brand's fragrances are of this quality. The longevity is also unexpectedly good at six or seven hours on the skin and longer on clothing.

The fragrance hasn't come off that well so far, I think you intuitively expect a sweet, easy-to-wear scent and then are surprised at how complex this yeast cake smells.
For me, it's a pure delight in winter, I can't imagine it at temperatures above 10 degrees, but you really have to try it out.
I dared to experiment with panettone - and actually won!

Unwrapping a Panettone
The perfume delivers on the name. A hyperrealistic mouth-watering gourmand that recreates its festive namesake. Opens with booze and spiced candied fruits (mostly orange) then reveals a heart of warm buttery vanilla bread/baked goods. Quite sweet. Some of the herbaceous and floral aspects can be fleetingly discerned, but overall the illusion holds together. Above-average longevity.

Literally panettone!
Wow, this really does its name justice! Especially the opening really smells like a panettone. It has a grainy, baked goods kind of sweetness and the bitter orange and ginger give the impression of being candied, so it's very realistic. After a while the scent turns a little spicier, at this point I also get hints of gingerbread from it. The citrus and ginger notes are still going strong though, and I find them a bit too harsh after a while.
This is not a perfumey fragrance where you can pick apart all the notes, it's more about the impression as a whole, which is very close to the real thing.

I enjoy this, even though I wish they toned down the sharpness of bitter orange and ginger a little bit. But I honestly wouldn't know when to wear it except for Christmas time, it wouldn't fit the mood at any other time of the year. This is one of those hyperrealistic gourmands that might work better as a candle in my opinion. But if you really want to smell like a panettone with lots of candied citrus and a hint of Christmas spices, look no further, this is it.

smells like holiday
I'm in love with this fragrance. it's literally panettone: pastry dough, dried fruits soaked in alcohol, spices. nothing superfluous. the smell is quite sweet but for me, it's not suffocating sweetness. it's panettone, after all, it can't be unsweet. perfect for winter, before Christmas, to heighten holiday anticipation. the season is just around the corner, looking forward to wearing it!

Very "Christmasy"
I got this sample by surprise along with something I ordered online. The first thing I said when I sprayed it was "wow Christmas!" Then I saw that the packaging says "a sweet anticipation of the merry festive season" so clearly this was intentional.

Honestly, I had no idea what a "Panettone" was until I Googled it. To me, this is reminiscent of a ginger snap cookie. Very gourmand, spicy and gingery.

Personally, this isn't how I would like to smell unless perhaps it really is Christmas day. But if you love gourmand smells and especially Christmas potpourri type smells, you should try it.

Like a more gourmand Angels' Share, dries cake/bread/pastry w/ hints of orange. Well-blended; dies down in 5-6h but €122 for 100ml is good.

Nostalgic Christmas smell. Very spicy-sweet. Reminds me of a gingerbread man.

Would have been a realistic panettone but the baker added too much vanilla extract and forgot about the spices and citrus zests

Spicy sweet dessert, reminds me of Christmas, so maybe a bit unique to wear outside of the holidays? It's good, not overly gourmand though

Buttery and cakey without becoming overwhelmingly sweet.
