Over-ripe Fruit and Burnt Sugar
B*men is one of those fragrances that people seem to smell all kinds of different things. To me it smells like over ripe fruit and caramelised sugar, with some vanilla thrown in for good measure. The patchouli and vanilla combination is present (is it my imagination or does Mügler use this lot?) and the result is a rich gourmand that to my nose is streets better than A*men.
The combination of liquorice and the sweet notes are perceived by different people across the whole range of burnt sugar, caramel, to liquorice. I am somewhere in the middle: I would say Blue Sugar by Aquolina is much more the liquorice scent. I get good projection and longevity from this. For a cologne that is supposedly discontinued, it is still pretty easy to find.
