The "non-comparison" comparison
I read:
"If you're looking for a really cheap fragrance that smells like Ombre Nomade, then Scorpion Intense is just right!"
I say: Nope and nope!
1) Scorpion Intense is certainly not a really cheap fragrance. After all, the price is well over €100.00, which puts it well ahead of most designer fragrances. The fact that it costs less than an LV fragrance is indisputable, but I think it is wrong to describe it as "Cheapie".
2) SI is a different fragrance and also a different caliber! Although the ingredients may seem quite similar (on paper), the appearance is completely different.
However, this is not intended to be a comparative test between the two fragrances mentioned, but primarily a description of the impressions of my Odyon experience; I will go into this in more detail later.
Opening:
A surprising freshness emerges from the bottle. The berry mix clearly dominates the top note here. Some rose quickly joins in and I am immediately reminded of a number of fragrances from the Emirates. SI doesn't "catch" me with it at first, because I miss something special here.
Later...
After the fruit has disappeared, the water begins its development, which makes it so popular with some influencers. It also took me a good 2 ½ hours before I decided to buy it. Fortunately, the Dubaimall offers enough activity to give a fragrance the time it needs to mature. A little incense, some saffron and a very subtle oud note take over; the rose is also still perceptible. In this respect, I think I'm on the right track.
Still later....
Arriving at the hotel, my back aches from carrying the bags of the shopping frenzy...the scent lingers! (No, this is not a TV commercial from the 80s ;-)...those who know it will remember it). In the last 4 hours or so, the fragrance kept its performance....Even "he" was still clearly perceived by the best wife of all. I'm still waiting for something sweet...
Very late.....
After watching the Dubai fountain and having dinner, we arrived back at the hotel. Over 10 hours had passed since the first spray. Now SI is slowly losing its effect. Unfortunately, there was no sweetness, but the feeling of a slightly bitter shower gel remained. Satisfied, I lay down....
What remains:
A really solid oriental fragrance that only reveals its strengths after a while and will therefore certainly fall through the roster for some, as the development to the "I like" moment takes longer than for others.
Finally, here's something summarized for comparison with ON:
-less oud
-less sweetness
-less fullness
-longer development
-more freshness in the opening
-similar longevity
-slightly weaker sillage
...But I'm sticking with "nope" (in relation to the statement in the opener)...
