"The Swedish life" probably means complaisance, feeling comfortable and complexity
XVI is not my first fragrance from Pana Dora. In addition to the probably best-known Imperial Wood for the fall / winter and the summer-immergeher Aqua de Dora had to move in after a perfumery visit now also XVI with me. Why?
XVI is a fragrance experience that, according to the description, fits into the rich tradition and history of Sweden (I love the stories behind complex fragrances). Top notes of wormwood and bergamot give the perfume a refreshing and citrusy opening that immediately grabs the attention of all the senses. This beginning leads to an herbaceous heart note that adds incredible depth and complexity to the fragrance.
What really impresses me, however, is the intriguing base note that includes a wide range of aromas - from patchouli to juniper to incense and other balsamic notes - importantly, this is not a balsamic fragrance!
This blend gives the perfume a unique, multi-faceted depth that is both sweet and green. The use of guaiac wood, cumin and nagarmotha gives it a special nuance that I have not smelled anywhere else.
It is far from easy to describe the fragrance character. You can be sure that XVI is absolutely round, nowhere should touch and is neither penetrating nor boring.
The background of the perfume, which goes back to Swedish history and tradition, makes Mr. Al Zouabi's creation even more interesting. The idea that this fragrance reflects the different aspects of Swedish life, from the forests to the markets and streets, virtually gives a deeper emotional meaning to the perfume XVI.
The bottles with the deer head as a symbol of Swedish wildlife is a charming and creative choice for packaging and adds to the overall experience. Sprayer, lid, flacon glass, plaque - everything mMn. even a tad higher quality than Xerjoff and Co.
In summary, XVI is versatile and suitable for everyday use as well as for special occasions. H/S are in the medium range, as no heavy ingredients are used here. 2-3 sprays more than usual but let you get through the day.
