The other summer scent

My expectations were high after I was allowed to test and buy Masar at the end of 2020. As a newcomer, I did not expect much - was it luck or skill - Masar had surprised me positively. No, overwhelmed, I was fascinated!

Enough about Masar, back to Vitias.

When I learned that pernoire launched the 2nd fragrance, I had many question marks! Can Vitias keep up with Masar? How will Vitias smell? After 6 months of a new fragrance, is the quality right? And, and, and....

I ordered a sample last week and was quite excited. When the fragrance arrived (in a hand-written letter), the weather was perfect: sunny, 28 degrees and I had a day off work (I couldn't order the gin and tonic yet, or are you allowed to do that at 11:00?)
The sample in hand, I had to indulge myself immediately 2,3 sprays. The opening was very refreshing. Briefly, I had the feeling that I had a fresh Limoncello from Calabria on the skin. The slightly sweet and citrusy top notes paired with spicy pepper drew me in. My craving for more increased. After a few minutes, the citrusy notes subsided and I get the feeling that the fresh fruity note transforms into a fresh Mediterranean breeze, underscored by southern woods and musk.

By now it's evening, the sun seems to be slowly disappearing on the horizon, which is more than can be said for Vitias on my skin. I no longer perceive the same freshness on the skin, however, my arm smells after a long bathing day at the sea with a fresh and chilled Limoncello an.

In bed next to a fan, I try to fall asleep. The breezes keep carrying vitias into my nose. Gradually, I notice the scent less. I am asleep.

The deepest point of the sea smells too ordinary for me.......pity

God, I was curious. The wonderful concept around these two sympathetic guys and their Swiss-made fragrances made me so curious that I ordered the first fragrance "Masar" as a sample last year and, after trying it, immediately gave it away.
Good fragrance, certainly......mir but too oriental. No problem, so far so good.

This is about "Vitias" today. The scent is supposed to remind of the deepest point of the sea. Complete darkness. Icy cold. Strange creatures. Pure fascination....and a little fear. Like the end and a new beginning. Awesome, I thought......this promises to be interesting. Sample ordered, waited, sample opened, applied and.....yes, and?
Mentally already in the direction of Mariannengraben on the way, I got stuck in the shallow-warm broth of Lake Neuchâtel. Bergamot? Yes! Lime? Yes! Mixed pepper? Yes! Everything I love is there, however, it just doesn't take me to the depths of the sea, but leaves me on some random swimming beach. Don't get me wrong. Vitias is a good fragrance and I like it. But Vitias remains arbitrary, durability and sillage also not spectacular and with 250 CHF for 50 ml, the price / performance ratio thus remains subterranean.

Too bad.

Swiss ocean freshness

The sample came fluttering in. Being in the Circle is an exciting point. That's how Pernoire is structured. Nice, personal contact. Testing different samples and then pass on your own opinion. That's how the

The deepest point of the ocean. But how does it smell there? Well certainly times sea. Otherwise, how? no idea.

Already with the prototypes I felt the fresh scents often very good. You can tell that Vincent Micotti has his fingers in it. Since I smelled but quickly the one great Ys Uzac fragrance out.
Full of excitement I was allowed to fish out the sample in the mailbox today.

The deck chair, in the middle of the sandy beach, reserved for me. I put my towel on it. Run a few steps in the warm sand and notice how the sun heats my bright, white skin. The sunscreen of course forgotten. So back to the hotel, get sunscreen and back to the beach. The stairs, down the steep slope to the sea, I climb with bathing shoes. A light breeze glides over my short cut hair. It is warm. Too warm for me. Back on the deck chair. The parasol shields my face from the sun. There is no one around for miles. I lie alone on the beach now and listen to the rushing sea. The small waves crash against the stones. I get tired. Close my eyes and fall asleep......

.... It's evening when I woke up. few degrees cooler than before. But the wind became little stronger. I smell fresh sea air. I am thirsty. The stairs to the hotel are a few meters away from me. I climb them and go to the bar. First I order a bottle of water, which doesn't last a minute. I ask the bartender to mix me a drink, which is refreshing. The glass immediately forms condensation. It seems really cool. I accept it and walk down the stairs to the beach. I can't wait to see what he has mixed for me. A few people have joined me. I don't feel so lonely anymore. The first sip leaves me cold. Urgh. Bitter, sweet, salty. All at once. My tongue detects grapefruit. Very fruity/acidic. Slightly bitter. But it's totally refreshing. The tingle is gone. I lie back on the deck chair and enjoy the last rays of sun. It is time to head for the hotel. On the stairs, the higher I get, the wind starts again. A great sea air. My drink is unfortunately empty. I enjoy the air. It suits very well. After dinner, I order another drink and let the evening end, outside, at the Hotalbar. Tomorrow is the return trip and the day remains in good memory.

And so I experience this great pernoire scent.
After spraying on totally fresh, citrusy with lots of grapefruit. After a short time, a salty note comes out. This joins woody spices. The freshness remains. Very good summer scent. I smell iris after a while. But this also disappears again. After some time passes the salty and it remains grapefruit-lastig.
For me, a successful freshness fragrance (no shower gel synthetic bomb).
For some too linear, for me very good. I like it fresh.

No. 2 from the company pernoire from Switzerland. Pleasant woody, fresh fragrance with a rather masculine touch and nice in the truest sense of the word. It doesn't offend, but it doesn't inspire either. There are already plenty of them everywhere. When you launch a perfume today, it should be something special, something new, something exciting, and I miss that here. Unfortunately, it only lasts for 3 hours on me (the fairy tales of 24 hours plus longevity that some people post here for certain fragrances have not yet come true for me). Always wearable and interesting for all those who can't stand the current vanilla storm.

Complex clear-blue depth

This fragrance starts off tart and fresh, it is a beautiful beginning with very clear bergamot-lime citrus and peppery notes. Then the aquatic-maritime notes quickly come in. I don't know what it actually is that I'm smelling, but it captures the maritime in a very fresh way. Clear, pure water, not a muffled or brackish or seaweed-fishy scent.

Woody notes are soon added, iris and angelica, but fortunately not at all sweet for me. Everything remains very bright, clear and spicy, but at the same time not at all showery, as is so often the case with similar combinations.

I am impressed by the elegant, fine, diverse combination.
After 20 minutes, I think to myself: yes, that's nice, but it seems quite classically masculine to me, the sample will probably go to my partner, and then I can continue to sniff it with pleasure :-)

But ha! After 2 hours, a very fine sweetish spiciness comes through from below, which I think is great, now I understand the classification as unisex better, it no longer smells so exclusively masculine.
At one point, I get sweetish white musk (strangely like at the base of Nights in Noto
- but only at this point at the very end is there a similarity, they are totally different scents!)
All in all, this is a very astonishing development over the course of the fragrance, which follows an extremely wide arc.
And only now do I understand the deep-sea association better. Vitias does not depict the deep sea in any realistic way, but creates an extremely broad path of clarity and depth, I would almost call it light blue if the deep sea were not rather dark blue-black. But for me, this complex and clear depth is the equivalent of the deep sea.

So: definitely not just boring average or too ordinary. Well, now we have to decide: Is it for my husband or for me? Or we could just both take it. Definitely going on the wish list!

I've tested it on my skin several times, so far only the sample from the (really poorly packaged) sample set from pernoire.

The black bottle looks nice in the picture, the shiny spheres are not my cup of tea.
