magical, ethereal, otherworldly
this was the fragrance that got me into shalini (and am now obsessed with). my local niche perfume store had their whole line for me to try out, and so i was very fortunate to get a 2mL sample of this to test for a couple weeks.
i have _never_ smelled anything like this before. the sakura smells incredible in this fragrance, and not dirty or muted as they often can in most sakura fragrances. comparing to say, Blossom Love by Amouage, this smells far more natural, clean and just beautiful. sakura fragrances can sometimes smell a little soapy, which this absolutely does not thanks to the resins and sandalwood. i am a huge, huge fan of incense; i burn them in my home all the time. this fragrance features that as well. it's such a unique blend that I felt this was fb-worthy.
i smell innocent youth standing on the backs of revered elders who paved the way forward. very heart-opening. it taps into the inner child as well as the serious shrine priest. it feels both impermanent and ever-steady, like how sakura blooms for a season year after year.
in terms of projection and sillage, this is one of shalini's strongest fragrances in that regard. even so, due to it being natural, it is not overly loud or demanding of attention. it's more like a well-kept secret known only to people who stand just close enough to experience its gorgeous brilliance, and as the fragrance mellows out and disperses, people would be lucky to still get a whiff of its gentle sonorousness.
