Dua relapse
He and his business model are different: Mahsam Raza, the head of Dua Fragrances. I don't know how I got in touch with Dua at all at that time, because he doesn't seem to be in our latitudes because he's very widespread and probably also frowned upon. In this context, the term "nose wrinkle" probably fits the meaning in several respects. At that time most fragrances weren't yet "Inspired Expressions" and yet, fortunately, there were some hearty fragrances among them that still have a good independence for me today.

In the last few months, however, the "new releases" took over so much that one - at least I - lost interest. "Inflationary" is probably the most significant term for this glut of new publications. One could also write "tiring". And moreover at the beginning of this phase fortunately none of his "role models" were on my radar.

Until a few weeks ago the nice Parfumo Sebulon27 sent me a sample of "F'ing Unbelievable". And I was very enthusiastic about that one, since the reviews for "the original" were rather mixed. The statements on Dupe, on the other hand, surprisingly tended to be more positive. So once again the Dua page called and the countless new creations browsed and see there: I really once knew one of the role models (personally). "Cuir's Nomades - Irish Leather" by Memo was the one to serve? Must be Mahsams personal preference, because I don't really believe in a wide spread of this fragrance.

Irish Leather was one of the few fragrances where I didn't even come to a decision with a 5 ml filling. What I liked about him was the sharp-freshness, which made the name-giving leather very modern. But he was quite grown up, because of the spice. Unfortunately, these characteristics full of character are sometimes (not always) blurred. Sometimes nice, sometimes good, sometimes gone. For me, just not constant and reliable. Good, but not present. Nice, but no statement.

Today I put on four sprayers of "Cuìr de Irlandés" without thinking anything great. Because the Dua flacons don't give off that much per spray anyway. It was in a classroom at the gym and within a few seconds it was up to the ceiling full of this scent. I've seldom seen anything like it in a normal room before. Fortunately I was alone and was afraid myself that my concentration would take on a degree that would damage the building substance, leaving the room. A round, so to speak. But it hadn't got much better at the return. So I started to work on the even distribution, also to be weakened as an issuer, to shorten the half-life.

"Cuìr de Irlandés" really has borrowings from the original, but it is much stronger on all channels. What is added is a smoky, drunken, creaky woodiness that drifts shallowly into the Oriental. I never found such bonds in the memo.

Really stupid, my relapse to Dua. This one puts the original in the deep black shade.

PS: By the evaluation criterion "bottle" I was reminded again of these unspeakable closures of the Duas. Initially these were metal cylinders, which sat tightly and at least expressed some grace and value. Then there were the transparent cheap plastic caps, about 30% of which had already cracked or even broken on delivery. But also in the whole condition they hold only very badly on the bottle neck. When I saw the new design, I thought Mahsam might have reacted to the criticism of the buyers and donated a metal screw cap. Think! Again plastic, again ugly press seams, again bad hold. Now I'm going to have to write him up. Because that does not do justice to the content in any way.
