Baccaraventus

Dua does dupes. You can spin it, cushion it, and explain it however you want, the statement isn't too far-fetched. It doesn't matter if it says "inspired by" or not. High quality, affordable, fabulous and sometimes even superior to its role models, but still dupes. That's why I was rather skeptical of the brand - but then at some point I wanted to take a sniff at the phenomenon and ordered, among other things, "Casino Elixir 2.0", now almost a kind of legend among the "copied perfumes". Because he (or his predecessor) were probably so with the brutal starting signal for the fact that Duo with the fusion (!) Two hit DNAs was now independent enough to take them seriously, to hype and to buy. Even if one can be critical of this "plus+plus=double-plus" scheme. A fragrance like "Casino Elixir 2.0" you still have to put first on the legs.

"Casino Elixir 2.0" takes 70% "Aventus" (rather fruity versions) and mixes it with 30% "Baccarat Rouge 540" - ready is a sublime appearance between high-pitched pineapple and mellow saffron, as you hardly thought possible. The first few minutes are a bit heavy, almost triggering migraines for me if I spray too close or go for it with the plunger. In addition, you can not completely deny a certain synthetic, I would rate the much more expensive paragons qualitatively minimally higher. Or at least they seem a little milder and better blended, more harmonious. But these are only nuances at the price and this penetrating beauty. Dua goes to the limit anyway in terms of performance and potency, which can then quickly seem "too much". A creamy "Aventus". A fruity "Baccarat Rouge 540". Father and mother from the olfactory nobility. Call it what you will. A crowdpleaser full of confidence and sexiness. Overall, "Casino Elixir 2.0" is the most beautiful Frankenstein experiment ever. Sorry, Elsa Lanchester!

Flacon: handy, sticky, capable, pretty is different, though. But's more about the content.

Durability: doesn't stop, even if you have enough - 13 hours

Conclusion: no matter how skeptical you are about Dua, Dupes or the "simple" fusion of two top fragrances - it is quite likely that "Casino Elixir 2.0" will inspire and convince you. Even more so if you love the role models and parent fragrances. It's a classy budget powerhouse of two blockbusters. A little I must deduct in the rating but due to lack of independence. But "laziness" was rarely a finer treat!

CRINGE ALERT: Shock Infatuation!

Did you know that when you're acutely in love, you tend to over-salt your food?
Today so happened at lunch and the forecast for dinner is rather gloomy. Yet I've been happily together with my partner for over 3 years - still in love, as on the first day, but the excessive salt consumption had actually subsided quickly back then. So? What is the reason?

Reason for this could actually be my latest acquisition in my perfume collection: Casino Elixir 2.0 from the house of DUA.

I do not want to talk long around the bush, how I had come to DUA and why I hype this brand so much, but start right away with the fragrance, while it still pulsates so nice and fresh on my skin and takes the whole room for itself.

Casino Elixir 2.0 is clearly relationship material. Where many fragrances are only suitable for a (more or less short-term) affair, this one catapulted to number 1 on my list of favorites right from the first sniff. And not only with me - no, it hails constantly and permanently compliments: Despite mask obligation in closed rooms (in Switzerland) I was since I am the proud owner of this fragrance (about 4 weeks) whole 8 times addressed by the opposite sex, not to mention the looks.
Especially but outside the shops, where you fortunately do not have to wear a mask, I am constantly addressed to the fragrance. It reminds me a bit of when One Million was newly launched and I was asked at every corner what fragrance I was wearing. That's exactly what's happening again now - probably because the DNA of the new Casino Elixir 2.0 is so crowd-pleasing above average.

In the opening, the fruity-smoky pineapple bangs around your ears. No pineapple from the discount store, but so one that is already overripe. Already at the first spraying the sweet-smoky smell spreads throughout the room. The sillage is out of this world. The smokiness is very restrained, especially in the beginning, because in the first 30 - 60 minutes you experience mainly the sweet-fruity pineapple. This is joined within a very short time by the scent of cotton candy. This melange begins after a few moments to take over the whole room - attention guaranteed.
Depending on the heat or cold then also after between 30 to 60 minutes the smoky notes appear. Never very pronounced and never very dominant: cotton candy and pineapple deliver themselves still the race of the century. But smoky and woody notes underpin the whole experience and let the fragrance come across strong and masculine.

In the heart notes then birch, patchouli and oakmoss join in, bring the fruity sweetness of cotton candy and pineapple a little bit back down to earth, but still float at least half a meter above everyone else.

It basically never gets to any base notes at all - even after 24 hours, the sweet cotton candy and intense pineapple can be felt along with smoky birch, warming woods, and soothing amber, paired with a little patchouli to give the scent a certain aplomb.

DUA has succeeded here a real masterpiece: Two power houses to combine a power temple, without touching anywhere - this is true art.
Where I have actually learned to appreciate DUA for its great dupes, I am now beginning to love this brand for their hybrids!

Even though I'm guaranteed not a compliment-fisher, who doesn't like getting a nice compliment or two about smelling good?
And with Casino Elixir 2.0, it happens all the time.... It's mostly women who approach me about this fragrance, probably because the DNA is just completely new and yet somehow familiar. But also some men have already addressed me on this fragrance - from two friends I know that they have now also brought the fragrance into the house!

The DNA is simply unique, the performance out of this world: Even AFTER the shower you smell this fragrance still so strong on the skin that a renewed Einparfümieren is actually not necessary. And on the clothes he survives even the intensive wash cycle at 40 degrees.
With the dosage is really caution required - here less is actually more!

I know, my raving about this fragrance certainly doesn't speak to me being objective and idealistic in my assessment of Casino Elixir 2.0. But what I am offering you is a subjective, real-life review based solely on my own experience and the amount of compliments I have received for this fragrance.
Of course, the primary concern is that you can feel good about a fragrance and - most importantly - that the fragrance suits you. This one certainly doesn't suit people who don't like to be the center of attention and are rather shy. No, this fragrance literally screams: here I am, what does the world cost?

And the answer is: 65 USD + shipping and customs.
And no, you do not get the world for it yet - but a breathtakingly delicious fragrance!

The best of 2 worlds

To answer one question in advance: Yes, this fragrance can what, even quite a lot. It takes the best ingredients of two great fragrances and plays off the common theme to near perfection. You'll guess, dear reader, we're talking about Aventus and Baccarat Rouge.

So this creation combines the basic fruitiness and wonderful pineapple of Aventus and underpins the whole thing with the airy and seductive sweetness of Baccarat Rouge that we know. The result is a hybrid that you can easily call more than just successful.

At the beginning, the impacts from the house of Creed clearly predominate. Only reserved in the background of the opening fruit cocktail we notice something sweetish, warming in the approach. It's not quite clear what it is yet, but it's definitely there. Only gradually do the sweet elements manage to tentatively assert themselves, allowing this composition to add another dimension. If you know the light, sweet mist of Baccarat Rouge, you'll find it here.

For durability and projection, I'd like to use the vocabulary "outstanding". You will be noticed, guaranteed. On my skin, this scent easily lasts 10 hours with air to the top. On clothes, 2 days is no problem. And yes, even then it still radiates. Compliments guaranteed. This one just goes on forever.

The Storyteller

There is a wistfulness in perfumes that is inherent in their essence. They depart the moment they come to us. If their beauty is particularly great, they die long ago like the flowers in the vase. They take their leave into the air. Perhaps that is the melancholy I often feel here. We want to hold on to it.

When I first sprayed this scent on yesterday morning, I knew immediately that it wanted to refuse this tenderly beautiful sorrow. He communicated it from the first moment. A strange presence on the outside and a confusing satisfaction on the inside set in. I walked under trees, and he was there. I sat at my desk, and he was there. I stood at the supermarket checkout, and he was there. Dinner, brushing teeth, reading. Always presence. Scent beckoned to me, and sometimes he clicked his finger like he did in school when he had an urgent word to say.

It was a conquest of space, and on top of all that, there was another experience. It was an encounter with a hybrid being. For Casino Elixir 2.0 is not just one fragrance, but two. It crosses two familiar perfumes as the result of a laboratory opportunity. Aventus and Baccarat Rouge 540.You can literally see people in white coats smirking because they managed to confuse us.

First, there is this convex silver accord, which we know from Aventus. Quickly spreads iridescent the familiar Johannisbeerfougere with the brushstroke of a Third Hand Smoke, which hangs smokers*innen in the clothes. But you wouldn't believe it, more and more of this medicinal cotton candy from Baccarat Rouge creeps into the picture. And so you stand there in a sometimes interesting, sometimes confusing bipolar fragrance experience.

I immediately wondered if this was sophisticated or a horror clown out of a chemistry set. And I'm not entirely sure if this scent wasn't also responsible for waking me up at 2:49 am tonight. It was definitely there. I almost looked to see if there was a red balloon under the bed.

It's both a blessing and a curse with Dua fragrances that they gift us with their intrusiveness. What's interesting, though, is that they're so clear. They separate the colors in the paint box in a very controlled way. There's no brushing around that allows mixed tones to creep in (or even that weird watercolor brown we remember from kindergarten). The company's concept seems to be separation sharpness from the chromatograph. It's the digital high-resolution of familiar perfumes. A flawlessly reproduced image in which the contrasts and colors have been turned up. It's a bit like the Iphone when you turn the photo filters up too high.

At the same time, they don't skimp on fragrance. After all, it's not particularly expensive to pour a bigger dollop from the ingredient vat into the bottles, and surely that's part of the reason for the brand's success. One wonders at the same time, why the manufacturers of the originals are often so restrained.

Maybe it's because this calculating high dosage can also be oppressive. It's quickly too much of everything. A colorful neon sign. Is that what you want?

In the end, I learned something. As I was putting on a regular cologne after my shower today, it occurred to me. Maybe it's simple.

Restraint is smiling. Blowhards grin.

The hybrid with that certain something!

Dear friends of hybrids,

today is about the Casino Elixir 2.0, a hybrid of the classics "Aventus (Eau de Parfum) | Creed" and Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum
Both fragrances I found solid to good, but ultimately none could move me to buy. While Aventus from the price-performance ratio has now become bad and the fragrance is too "sucked out", BR 540 is brilliant in its sweetness, but somehow imperfect. So I am missing a counterpoint here, because a simply sweet fragrance is unfortunately not enough for me in this case and at this price. From therefore I was very interested in the hybrid of Dua and I can tell you that I was not disappointed.

CE 2.0 starts as usual from Dua slightly out of round, which is not great disturbing, however, because this out of round start is within 1-2 minutes. Synthetics does not stand out to me in the entire course, although the fragrance does not smell entirely natural. The scent starts with a sweet, juicy pineapple with no smoke at all, the pineapple becomes additional tart in the first few minutes and later in the scent. Here it is not clear to me whether this is due to the apple or the currant, although I would rather guess the currant.

At the same time, the familiar cotton candy DNA of BR540 is clearly perceptible from the first minute. Almond and saffron dominate here in the prelude. This sweetness later flattens somewhat, but remains clearly in the background from start to finish.
After about 30-60 minutes, the birch gains more and more dominance, so that the pineapple becomes smokier. It was this twist that I liked best in the original Aventus, so I'm glad to perceive this nuance in the CE 2.0 as well. Also the cedar wood flashes now and then in the background and holds together with the birch the sweetness of BR540 in check.
Overall, the fragrance is dominated by Aventus to circa 65-70%, the rest does BR540. In my opinion, the perfect ratio of fruity-smoky and playful sweetness.

CE 2.0 smells like a rather fruity Aventus, which later yet becomes a bit smokier.
In parallel, BR540 is responsible for the unique sweetness, so this fragrance is best suited for autumn, winter and spring. This combination of fruit, smoke and sweetness creates something completely new. A good scent and a solid scent become a really classy hybrid that I can imagine will go over very well with those around it. Field tests follow and will be added here :).

The durability can also be seen. While the fragrance creates at least 10 hours, this is usually 12 - 13 hours. This is not the absolute best that is possible in terms of perfume, but for a fruity-sweet fragrance is very neat. So I lobe me that!

The sillage is brutal at the beginning. The fragrance fills the whole room with two sprays from the sachet and leaves a strong scent plume in motion. At this stage, the fragrance really keeps up with the strongest like Air Tiger , Black Afgano Extrait de Parfum and almost even "Shaghaf Oud | Swiss Arabian". Unfortunately, this monster sillage lasts only a good hour, after which the fragrance flattens out more. However, it still remains strong and clearly present. The number of sprays can be safely left in the single digits, because with 6-9 sprays you really have more than enough fragrance. Overall, I see the sillage at a very strong 8. This makes it stronger than Bentley for Men Intense but weaker than Red Tobacco whereby CE 2.0 this at the beginning in the sillage clearly beats.

The flacon is as usual from Dua simply underground. For the price anyway. Since I like the fragrance so well, I think I'll get the Special Edition in the green bottle, if I have used up the 30ml. Since the bottle is namely quite respectable.

Overall, an absolute test obligation for the lovers of Aventus, of BR540 and for all those who found both fragrances good, but who lacked that certain something. Here, both fragrances united in CE 2.0 complement each other insanely well. The fragrance is clearly to categorize as unisex and is suitable up to the office or other serious activities for any occasion, especially for going out.
