Change of heart
Excitedly, I waited for the FedEx driver to arrive.
I did not know what to expect, before then the first 2 sprayers settled on the arm.
I should probably mention that I could never test the Orginal - Tobacco Oud - yet.

Tobac Aoud was a blind purchase.

Now I smelled excitedly on my arm and thought to myself: man, I'm standing in a humidor.
I really like the smell of fresh tobacco. When blended with the oud, it makes the tobacco very warm and pleasant.

Now I sat there and smelled again and again on my arm and then but did not know whether I really want the smell as a perfume: Do I want to use the perfume and smell like this?

After half an hour or so, I had then thought: where is the tobacco and why am I sitting in a church?
Must have missed the priest waving the incense container around.
The scent has changed a lot in my perception.
The question with me but remained: do I want to smell so?

I was impressed what was happening on my skin. I found that really interesting and not bad.

I neglected my home office work a bit to keep sniffing my arm.
Frankincense Patchouli Frankincense Frankincense ... where was the tobacco? Oud?
Already somewhere in between.

What was striking was that the whole time I was working after all, I kept noticing such a soothing smell.
It came from the arm and so the scent of I did not know: do I like you? Should I keep you? What does my wife say?
If I already have doubts, you even more so!
My own doubts gave way.
My wife was, for me more than amazing, very taken! The more often smelled the better she found the fragrance.

About 8 hrs after TWO spray on the hand / arm, the scent still projects. Not very strong but that's totally ok too. It is just right as it is. More would be then but too much.

I had doubts, I didn't know where to put my thoughts, I didn't know if I wanted to be perceived like that?!

It remains to say in the end:
Amazing development of the fragrance.
A great durability. A very pleasant sillage.

And: yes of course I want to smell like this and with a bit of pride I will put on the fragrance.

From doubter to fan and that within a day.
Yes it's a clone.
I personally don't care.
It smells absolutely high quality.
You don't have to like it but you can tell that this is a very very good product.
I am definitely a fan of Dua.

Genius: YOU did it again!
One thing first: I'm not a big fan of Dupes on principle. It's not that there aren't many really good Dupes out there - but I'm still more inclined to invest more money in the originals, firstly because I think the original masterpieces should be honored and rewarded, and secondly because I think that the originals are simply a wonderful status symbol in addition to their (often) better nuances in scent.

I came across DUA almost a year ago when I was looking for a longer lasting version of Tom Ford's scent Oud Wood. Initially sceptical of all the mostly very good reviews on the DUA site and the (partly) high prices for 30 ml bottles, I had to struggle for a long time until I decided to buy from DUA. Up to now, the quality, durability and performance of every fragrance purchased there has convinced me completely.

Quite in contrast to Tobacco Oud by Tom Ford: This fragrance took a long time to convince me of its ingenuity and master class - to me the scent was simply a house number too intense, yes, and admittedly also too polarizing. When I first tested the fragrance, my grandfather immediately came to mind: a seasoned man, a retired CFO who appreciates and enjoys the luxurious side of life. Sounds quite good, actually. If my grandfather wasn't already 84, I'm afraid so
But at some point I began to take a liking to Tobacco Oud. Every time I visited my favourite perfumery I asked for a sample of Tobacco Oud, and on the fourth occasion - mind you, I'd just bought a 100ml bottle of Fucking Fabulous - the lady smiled somewhat sublimely, said she'd be right back and then brought me a 10ml bottle of Tobacco Oud. Since then I use this scent for those very special occasions when I want to feel "better than everyone else". Sounds arrogant - and that's exactly what this fragrance represents: a certain arrogance paired with elegance, style and backbone. This fragrance polarizes, corners, stands above everything. And you have to be the type for that.

But now back to DUA's Tobac Aoud, which, as the name suggests, is a dupe of the fragrance described above. When I saw that DUA had released this fragrance in late summer, I first thought that I could do without this fragrance, since I own the 10 ml bottle. But something did not let go of me and drove me again and again to read the reviews on the website.
Then last week there was a big action at DUA and I hit it: The Tobac Aoud landed in my shopping basket and today in my mailbox.

Right after unpacking, spray generously (4 sprayers) on the forearm - and what can I say: They did it again!

Whoever follows me here knows how I usually compare the DUA fragrances at this point with the originals. But in this case this is absolutely not necessary, because:

TOBAC AOUD is the truly perfect image of Tom Ford's Tobacco Oud.

THE Scent:

To the AUFTAKT only loud, uncompromising and violent oud paired with sweet-spicy tobacco thunders around the ears. If you've ever been to a cigar factory, this smell is 10 plus oud.

The opening is really a number in itself and is definitely not well received by everyone. But at this point the mighty Sillage has already taken over and conquered the back of the room. Is everyone happy with the conquest? One dares to doubt it - my partner, I believe, is already planning the first revolt with her Baccarat Rouge.

Even in HERZNOTE the fragrance dares to polarize:

Besides the two main components tobacco and oud, some dirty, cellar-heavy patchouli is now beginning to play its part. But both dirty and cellar-heavy I mean positively at this point: The scent distinguishes and highlights one from the broad crowd. It seems very sublime, but never arrogant.
These are joined by noble woods, sandalwood according to the description, which, however, accompany the fragrance beautifully and fortunately do not let a forest grow from it.

In the BASIC NOTE, sweet tonka bean and very distinctive frankincense are added, making the Extrait de Parfum a true statement.
Through the combination, the tobacco comes out sweet and tart, fights a spectacular battle with the oud and in the end takes its wearer completely with its fascination and superiority.

Like the original, the fragrance, which was even dubbed a "CEO fragrance" by a certain YouTuber, is a polarizing club and the epitome of power, elegance, style and backbone.
Often described as "dirty" tobacco, this fragrance is certainly not just any mainstream euphoric and boundless enthusiasm, but a statement for the man made, who doesn't need to apologize. And yet the fragrance is balanced and elegant. You buy a piece of exclusivity to spray on.

I love this fragrance and thanks to DUA I will certainly wear it more often in the future.

The DURABILITY of DUA's Tobac Aoud is more than 24 hours and is clearly visible even after the next shower.
The SILLAGE is also intense: the fragrance is a real room filler in the first hours and should therefore be enjoyed with great care.

In terms of price, the DUA is certainly not a chemotherapy, but is rather in the upper midfield. In addition, there are the shipping and customs fees, so the fragrance is cheaper than the original, but not cheap.

As a conclusion I have to admit that the Tobac Aoud is my secret favourite in the Battle TF Tobacco Oud vs. DUA Tobac Aoud - simply for this one reason: The intensity. Even if the scents as such are not really distinguishable, the Tobac Aoud clearly leads the race thanks to its enormous intensity. The durability is even stronger than that of the original, and here too, you can clearly count on 12 h+ durability. I am convinced by the more intense scent, which impresses with its uncompromising, superiority, but also with its elegance and exclusivity
