Odd combination of gastronomic spices and soapy neroli
My initial reaction to Histria's opening was a slightly sweeter Echt Kölnisch Wasser Eau de Cologne but upon my second wearing I am getting the spicier and smokier side to this opening. It is almost gastronomic, like the scent of a kitchen of someone who regularly prepares Indian food. In the drydown, the orange blossom and lavender really come through along with some woody notes making for a clean, soapy feeling. It does have a bit of a cleaning-product vibe and actually I have a terrible association with this specific scent: me and my wife purchase scented diaper bags for our baby that smell almost exactly like the drydown of this fragrance, so it is definitely a no go for me.
