Posh Luxury
Smells posh, luxurious and smooth as velvet. You can tell this is made with very high quality ingredients, as you would expect from J. Peterman! The dry-down is amazing and it lasts for at least 12 hours! This is powerful stuff and a great confidence booster! It makes me think this is how the billionaires would smell. VERY classy and rich smelling. Apparently, Peterman found an old 100 year old bottle of cologne in an antique shop in Paris. He sent the bottle out for analysis with gas chromatography and they broke down the individual ingredients and notes. This resulted in a new cologne by J. Peterman. 1903. I HIGHLY recommend it!

Leather and Smoke
I finally got a bottle after wanting it for years. I am impressed. To my nose, I am getting hints of Ralph Lauren's sadly discontinued CHAPS, Knize Ten and Stetson Original. Smells rich and classy. Perfect for Fall and Winter. Apparently this was first released way back in the 1960's and is still in production. It has an air of mystery to it, a cloudy breezy cool autumn day with the smell of smoke in the wind, as you walk through a long forgotten path in the woods while wearing your leather jacket and every step you take crushes the fallen leaves underfoot. Elsha 1776 gives off a beautiful, mysterious Autumn vibe. I highly recommend it.

A Legendary Masterpiece.
A true masterpiece. One of my most complimented frags of all time. Amazing for this price. "What cologne are you wearing"? "I really like that cologne you're wearing". I get compliments almost every time I wear it. Fragrances that cost $80 to $120? Not a peep from anybody. THIS? Costing around $15? Attention galore. Not that I care about getting compliments, I wear what I like regardless. But this little gem never ceases to amaze me. {{UPDATE, February 11, 2023}}: I just received another bottle of Red For Men with a production date of 08/2022. It was made in Spain, my old bottle was made in the USA and was made in 2017. Has this really been discontinued??? Or was production only moved to Spain? By the way, the one made in Spain is 10 times more awesome than the USA version. The older USA made bottle was great, but this Spanish made one is absolutely amazing!!! Much better and higher quality ingredients, better blended and more natural smelling!!! The leather and caraway notes are much deeper and louder. Dry-down is sublime. WOW.

Latest Reformulation Is A WINNER!
I am happy to report that the newest reformulation is a real winner!!! My bottle, 6.7 ounces, made in 06/2022, is much better than formulations from a few years back. It is more airy, better note separation and it lasts 8+ hours. Spraying on your shirt keeps the beautiful top notes in play for hours instead of fading out after 10 minutes. They've finally gotten it right. Whoever did this deserves a raise and promotion. Highly recommend you getting it. All of the notes are in there, and it projects for hours. It's finally an amazing fragrance again!!!

Another Beautiful Creation Gone
I'm extremely disappointed in Davidoff for discontinuing this masterpiece. If they have no pride in their own history, how can I ever support them again? I've lost a lot of respect for Davidoff. What a ridiculous decision. It boggles the mind the way some of these historic fragrance houses have just tossed some of their most legendary fragrances to the trash heap. I'm done with them. I'll stick with more respectable houses like Hermes and Guerlain and others who seem to take pride in their craft and their history. Legends like Bel Ami sure aren't flying off the shelves anymore but Hermes still keeps it in production! Why??? Because they have pride and INTEGRITY and that's why I'll always respect and support them. Discontinuing beloved fragrances is a slap in the face to the consumers who cherish them. We the consumers need to start slapping back.
