Class in a bottle
What a delight to smell a reformulation that is better than the original. More floral-citrusy and less metallic, this fragrance smacks of refined opulence. Classy masculinity with good longevity and a discreet sillage; only a couple of dabs behind the ears will last for hours and will not overpower anyone. Luxuriate!

Run away!
If the Amouage version is anything like this I am glad that I did not splash out on a blind buy. This smells like a floral household cleaner and is very strong. I may use it to freshen some rooms at home, but this is certainly not something I would want to wear.
Pungent
A promising albeit sharp citrus opening is then overshadowed by a pungent, intrusive caraway note which dominates what could be a well-balanced scent. I wanted to like this and bought it based on the many positive reviews on here; however, I would not recommend a blind-buy on this one. Positives: the price and it's longevity, if you like it. As for being similar to Rive Gauche in the dry-down, I get that, but I prefer Rive Gauche which does not come with a bitter caraway cloud.
Patchouli beast mode
A virile patchouli beast, this is a classic, classy barber shop scent with great staying power, projection and quality composition. But let’s face it, this is a designer fragrance sold at a niche fragrance price. Even purchasing from a discounter this is way overpriced. Love the juice, and the bottle design is cool in a retro/hip way. Wearing this you feel you need to be dressed to the nines - in this way it is not unlike vintage Givenchy Gentleman, another patchouli masterpiece. However, I just wish the price tag was more in line with what it really is.
Great scent
Although lacking in projection and longevity, as far as the actual scent goes this is nothing short of exquisite. I do not know the OG, but as a stand alone fragrance Zion is really well blended, and in my opinion more suited to autumn than spring or summer, as the sweetness is not a zesty one. This sweet note lends itself to a more youthful vibe than a barber shop scent, for example. Strangely, the other day I got whiffs of Terre d’Hermès in the dry-down, whereas on first sniff there is no resemblance to TdH whatsoever. Must be the citrus. A complex, but extremely well-rounded composition which explains why this Alexandria offering is so successful. I just wish the performance were as good as the scent. I make up for it by spraying liberally, but lacklustre performance is making me reconsider repurchasing.
