A sentence with "x"
I have rarely been as excited about a fragrance as I was about this one. Expectations were very high, as all Marc Gebauer fragrances to date have had a beast mode.

I am all the more disappointed now...

Initially, the blackcurrant and green notes come through well, while oud and grapefruit completely escape my nose.
In the (short) course, a strange lavender - musk mixture joins in and then it remains very linear.

The fragrance lingers on the skin for about 2 hours before it disappears completely. We don't even need to talk about sillage here.

Based on the notes alone, I was expecting something much more intense. So it has now become an irrelevant fragrance that is allowed to move on.

That was probably nothing Mr. Gebauer!

On the Kashmir trip!
When this new 4711 fragrance range was announced, I immediately turned my attention to this new perfume, because the ingredients list read very well to me:

Cashmere wood - Super!
Black pepper - mega!
ISO-E-Super - Cool!
Cedarwood - Fantastic!
Ambrox - Well... it depends on the amount!
Musk - OK
Norlimbanol - OK

After the first spray, I knew immediately that it wasn't a bad buy!

At first, the cashmere wood stands out, but after a short time it turns into a very creamy wood. The pepper is only minimally present, you hardly notice it. Fortunately, this also applies to the ambrox. We are miles away from an Ambrox bomb such as "Sauvage (Eau de Toilette) | Dior"!

After a while, it's the combination of the cashmere wood and the cedar that sets the tone, right through to the drydown

All in all, a successful fragrance that is similar to "Cedar N' Pepper | Birkholz", but comes across a little creamier.

Uh... Is there one?
First of all, I have to say that, unlike my previous reviewers, I can't detect anything musty here at all.

On the contrary, the fragrance convinces me from the first second of spraying until the drydown fades away.

Slightly sweet - woody with a small portion of freshness, this somewhat aged Egyptian comes around the pyramid corner.

I doubt whether it really smells like this in Egypt, but that doesn't really matter. Names are relative...

Lavender, cardamom and sandalwood are the main players here. Patchouli and nutmeg completely escape my nose and the leather is also rather far in the background. Amber joins in over time and makes the overall impression a little more rounded.

I can't detect the often-cited synthetics either, everything seems very harmoniously composed and in my eyes, or rather my nose, it has become a good, light oriental all-rounder that you can wear anywhere without being offputting.

Scent LED!
The first fragrance ever from the famous fashion house Moncler, known for its down jackets in the upper price segment. Honestly, I'm already surprised that it has taken so long until this branding has also released its own fragrance. But anyway...

Anheuert to the recipe were with Antoine Maisondieu (among other things Armani Code, Bottega Veneta-Pour Homme, Montblanc-Exlorer) and Christophe Raynaud (among other things Paco Rabanne-One Million, Azzaro-Chrome Legend, Jean Paul Gaultier-Scandal Pour Homme) 2 well-known perfumers who understand their craft (should).

This Eau De Parfum is available in 3 different sizes: 60 ml, 100 ml and 150 ml. Only the 150 ml version has a scrolling LED display in the middle of the silver bottle, which lights up with red lettering. In the "factory state" lights up there "MONCLER", but you can change the text with the help of an app, up to 80 characters, or letters are possible. A nice gimmick, in my opinion. Of course, there will be people who will hate this just as much and classify it as ridiculous, such as the robot bottle of Paco Rabanne-Phantom. Schmierwurst! (translated: I do not care!)

After studying the ingredients, this fragrance should fit my prey scheme, at least as far as pine, cedar, vetiver and amber are concerned. So I expected a strong spicy woody scent! What I got was something slightly different... woody yes, but a very green with a sort of snow accord light eau de parfum that is anything but a beast. Associations with a walk in the alpine regions in clear and fresh mountain air and snow are stirred up, although it is also a bit scratchier in the drydown. Probably attributable to the vetiver, which does not seem as round here as in other fragrances.

What is completely missing here is any kind of citrusy notes, neither in the top note, nor afterwards. Also the sweetness shines here at first by absolute absence, only shortly before the exit one guesses something slightly sweet ambriertes. Courageous!

Overall, therefore, a new fragrance that you can not compare with any other. Slightly woody GREEN probably fits best as a paraphrase. H/S rather settled in the lower average.

Blind purchase successful!
Actually, I don't like the generic Sauvage DNA with lots of Ambroxan at all. Ambroxan smells for me just pungent unpleasant.

So why the hell did I even dare to make this blind purchase? Well, at least some reviews here say that this stuff is only mildly present and I admittedly think the ad with Johnny Depp on guitar in a barren landscape is pretty cool. So here with the stuff, hoping that Ambroxan was only included in reasonable quantities for me, such as in the normal version of "Emporio Armani - Stronger With You | Giorgio Armani".

My hope has fortunately been confirmed! Ambroxan only very far perceptible. Instead, other candidates such as lavender and well-dosed licorice are the main players here. In the top note, which reminds a little of Maggi diluted with grapefruit, I recommend not to sniff directly at the point of application, but to keep some distance, because the fragrance is still developing in another, warmer and woody direction.

The spray button is sensational and the Elixir mist flows perfectly! The packaging and the bottle are also super classy.

H/S absolutely fine and for me by far the best DIOR from the Sauvage series. Blindbuy succeeded and not regretted!
