I love this perfume, and I hate that the original formula is discontinued. (Avon seems to discontinue all of my favourites though). It can be procured from Ebay, charity shops and the like easily enough though. It's far better than the average Avon offering. I even think the bottle is really pretty. As much as I like Avon, their bottles often leave something to be desired.

Mesmerize is very sweet, but the woody and amber notes keep it from being cloying, and it's quite sophisticated. Oddly, I always smell vanilla in this, but it's not listed amongst the notes. It's got above average sillage, so a little goes a long way.

P.S. I've just tried the new formulation of this, and it's a shadow of its former self. Please try to find the original formula if you can.

I remember wearing this in the 90's, and the old formulation with the fan-topped bottle is superior to the current one. However, the current formulation is still quite good. The older formula seemed more complex and slightly more animalistic. The sillage was better with the old formula as well.

I still wear this fragrance often, and I agree with what the others have said about notes. I'd describe it as a peachy floral balanced with aldehydes and a weak muskiness. It's not particularly complex, but that adds to it.

It's a good work fragrance because it's not overpowering in any way. I get a lot of compliments on it, but with the current formula, I find I only like this, while I used to love it.

This perfume smells very chemical and unpleasant to me. It makes my eyes water. I also can't really pick out any of the notes, but that's not always a bad thing. It has great sillage, though.

This fragance leaves me uninspired. It's not bad, but it reminds me of bland, inoffensive toilet soap. I agree that it has a niggling shaprness to it, but I find it only slightly fruity leaning more towards a powdery floral.
