Homesickness and wanderlust
In Forest Riot meet my childhood in the Black Forest and my favorite vacations in the Scandinavian winter. The fragrance is exactly what it says on it: Forest. A little less Riot than I thought, actually more gently whispering past conifers with a windy rustling prelude.
When I wear it, my partner always just comes grinning around the corner and screams "Riotttt!"

The loud greenr part unfortunately only lasts a short time. After that, you have a very photorealistic nadeligen Skinscent, which lasts about two hours. In wool clothing absolutely stunningly beautiful.

I always wear it when it pulls me out of the rainy Hamburg city life. And interpret all the coniferous forests of the world in him.

And I think Forest Riot deserves a review. Because even if he is very elusive, I think that's okay for 40€ on the (very pretty!) Flacon, because he is the only forest fragrance that captures this very special blend of ethereal perfection and rhauer nature completely without additional scratchy incense.

Plea ended. I love him very much and the new bottle is already ordered.

Carrot Terreuse Noir
Or even the earthy carrot in black. My French is still from school days and even then it was not particularly cultivated. But it's still good enough for Encre Noir: black ink. Much-loved, much-discussed, and actually completely superfluous to give my opinion on it yet, right?

But, of course, just like in French class, I can't keep my mouth shut. Encre Noir smells to me fresh on the skin like carrots that have just been pulled out of the damp earth. Complete with greens and earthy residue, I hold the crunchy vegetable in my hand and sniff vigorously at the blend that hits my nose. Deep earth tones meet something tangy-juicy, This is then probably cypress and vetiverylacetat.

In the drydown, a gentle sweetness is added, the scent becomes deeper, woodier and I perceive more cypress. The sillage and perfomance of this fragrance are great, and not just for the highly praised price.

Around the fifth hour, I'm left with a deep, woody scent with a slight freshness and lots of vetiver that wraps itself around me in a flattering way and still radiates powerfully. '

That times as a halfway sober assessment. But how do I now actually find Encre Noir? Strange, different, great. Of course, the hype comes from somewhere, but I did not expect to wear the fragrance as gladly as I do. The earthy carrot note (I don't know where the association came from either), the depth of the scent, and the clean, warming progression caught me from the first second. First I was surprised by the unexpected top note, vetiveryl acetate was new to me as a fragrance note and I think this is where my carrot comes from. Then I was completely blown away by the cypress and the sweet bourbon vetiver. Encre Noir is really just as exciting and wonderfully unisex as it is described here

Highly potent synthetics from chemical waste
Bought blind, because Zara has just fragrances on sale and he cost virtually nothing. The notes promise a clean clean scent, minimally woody, described here on Parfumo as "synthetic".

Synthetic I usually perceive as a rather modern note, somewhat pungent in fragrances that are thereby eigenständiget. Here, however, the synthetic is unbearable and unwearable for me.

I usually just keep quiet about the scents I don't like, but I've also never tried so hard to wash a scent off again. An undefinablebared concoction of - yes, what actually? No trace of salty notes or even musk and sandalwood. This smells like what you'd scrape out of the bottom of a special bin at the end of a long day in the lab, just before it etches a hole in it.

Durability and sillage are ironically for a Zaraparfum in the higher range, me hangs the stuff even hours later still unpleasant in the nose. But maybe it's also me, my chemistry?

The bottle fell apart first and the sprayer is a disaster. So much for that. I'm sorry to tear this fragrance here just so, but I'm a little shocked ...

Saltier Donna Rosa Verde
Anyone who has already sniffed Donna Rosa Verde can roughly imagine Rose Saltifolia. However, salty, alga notes come here to the citrus-green. But let's start at the beginning. Mailson Crivelli is slowly morphing into one of my favorite houses; the scents are fairly produced, beautifully and sustainably packaged, and come in simple but well-crafted bottles.

Rose Saltifolia is not a typical, lovely rose scent, more of a salty tart freshy with green rose notes. While at the beginning blood orange and pepper make the fragrance fresh, come in the course of the fragrance more and more rose and cashmerancremigkeit to the surface.

But that's about all that can be said about this fragrance, because there is hardly any progression. The durability is rather meow, but I attribute that to the freshness of the perfume. It is uncomplicated, but not boring and just a corner different than classic rose fragrances.

That's why it reminds me so much of Valentino's Donna Rosa Verde, with its green rose and tart mate notes, which come with a similar bitterness but seem softer, less edgy. Both I like to wear, but if I had to choose, I would tend to Rose Saltifolia.

Carrot Cake by the fire
Don't laugh, but today was so cold that I had some fall vibes in between. That moment when outside is wet-cold windy air that almost tastes like snow and is best sniffed wrapped in a blanket with the window open.
Next scene: I'm sitting with my best friend in the same cafe where we always go. They both order the same thing as always, but there's a new special today: carrot cake, the Starbucks variety, which is sweet and heavy and dripping with frosting. The scent of sweet carrots hits my nose along with a spice that stirs homey feelings in me: cardamom and a hint of clove, perhaps? The whole thing is made slightly spicy by the pepper shaker on the table and somehow also a little smoky from the fire crackling in the corner. The air from outside draws in, damp-moody it sets a deep contrast to the initial sweetness.

Okay, yeah, we're not talking about cake anymore. The scent intrigues me, definitely something for the colder days. I find it very round and homey, but I wouldn't call it green. To me it comes across as almost creamy due to the nutmeg, with delightful sharp and spicy contrasts. Autumn and winter can come, the weather is already ahead of us
