The opposite of low-key
Chloé is a loud, cheerful and brilliant fragrance that draws attention: Definitely not for days when you want to melt inconspicuously into the background. Chloé is intense, warm, soft, sensual and very flowery, powdery and musky in the drydown. Be careful with the dosage, a little goes a long way! The fragrance is strong, distinctive with a pronounced sillage, and it becomes easily overwhelming if over-applied, causing sensitive people to pull open the windows. But when the fragrance matches your skin chemistry and you don't overdo it, Chloé really is a wonderful and ultra-feminine fragrance!

Agreeable
Esprit Collection is a fragrance matching Esprit fashion: Fashionable without being extravagant, unobtrusive, agreeable. A pleasant fragrance for every day.
It starts with Ylang Ylang and orange blossom as a flowery but not overly sweet fragrance, then blending with a haylike tonka bean, vanilla and woody notes (sandalwood?) to a soft, almost creamy, feminine unit.
The notes of wood and vanilla remind me of wine - in the 1990s red wines matured in oakwood barrique barrels were all the rage: Slightly artificial, a tad too penetrating to be really classy, but completely adequate to accompany an everyday dinner. In the same way Esprit Collection is an agreeable and very affordable fragrance for people who like vanilla.
Was, I should say, as it's been discontinued.

A spellbound pond in the woods
For me, Eden is clearly a summer fragrance - used sparingly, that is!
Eden smells green and fresh and at the same time earthy like a wood after a summer rain, like a pond full of water lilies surrounded by woodland. Then come exotic blossoms blending beautifully and exciting with the smell of fallen leaves and humid forest soil. Normally I don't really like patchouli, but here it creates a wonderful air of humid woodland surrounding the waterlily pond haunted by naiads.

P.S.: I tried it in winter and found it too sweet and way to pungent. Eden really works better in summer and hot weather conditions.

Decadence for my leather jacket
Insensé by Givenchy probably is the most decadent fragrance I own: I only bouht it to perfume my black leather jacket (and selected leather handbags)...
I love the combination of real leather and this warm fragrance of wood, black currant and resins!
On my skin it develops a penetrating, almost piercing note that sometimes causes me headache, but on leather Insensé spreads a warm and sensual whiff of luxury I just can't get enough of!

My Ice Princess Fragrance
Eau de Givenchy was my very first perfume, and regarding that with the passage of time the packaging was changed, I suspect that the fragrance has been reformulated as well. I don't know the current version, sold as part of Givenchy's "Mythical" collection, my review refers to the 1980s original, sold in a simple high and square flacon with a dark-blue veined square plastic lid.

At first, Eau de Givenchy smells fresh, delicately flowery, clean and rather cool but lightly spicy as well - maybe that is what some people perceive as soapy. It ist a clear, clean scent, not sexy, not playful either, but reminding of spring, pure and innocent, just like a cold mountain stream splashing through a meadow full of spring flowers.
A virgin whose erotic powers are still sleeping. While the fragrance evolves, sensual notes emerge, a warm woodiness, warmer, more sensual flowers: Behind the cool aloofness sleeps a clear sensuality, but it remains a suggestion.

All in all Eau de Givenchy is a rather cool and reserved fragrance, fresh, friendly and in no way brash or flashy - a fine fragrance for office and business.
