No American Horror Story
In the series the black dahlia is of course one of them. The name sounds romantic-mysterious, scandalous, close to crime and femme fatal - if you don't think of the garden flower. But it's not available in black either, so mysterious again. But I also feel the scent quite differently. The American canon of horror does not catch as soon as the genie is out of the bottle. The name does not transfer to the idea of the fragrance, but the fragrance has a shape of its own

Delicate to antique pink, slightly fruity powder welcomes the nose. This powder cloud does not tempt you to sneeze, but is confined, shaped, soft and elegant. Creamy perhaps? The rose is a warm rose and not at all superficial, with me iris and sandalwood predominate. The connection between rose and iris has been taken over by the frsich-soft mimosa that is listed in the top note. Thus the fragrance does not seem too old and never distant despite an elegance that cannot be denied. It also remains slightly citric, the tangerine lingers and goes well with the flowers. Patchouli gives grounding. Soft tonka bean and soft powdery sweetness at the end. In the effect so that one can associate it with skin smell, alive and breathing, not with fabric softener or even the victim of a crime. AugustA thinks: astonishingly good scent!

Inhale and light eye flutter with a hint of goose bumps at the transition from head to heart note. It's like meeting and evoking a light touch in the fragrance.

The fragrance stays dry throughout the whole process, is soft and remains soft, I mean to smell more and more clearly milky sandalwood even in the base. This merges again over this leftover hint of tangerine and mimosa with the blossoms and powder. Delicately clean, not pure, no soap. I don't smell vanilla either, which I like. So nothing can get corny. At the very end he gets a slightly gourmand scent, maybe the tonka bean, not unlike vanilla, maybe even something slightly roasted. If you smell it directly, none of it, it only gets into your nose half an arm's length away.

The fragrance will certainly last a whole evening and is still detectable in the morning. I can't imagine it during the day

Contrary to expectations, the Black dahlia remains for me far beyond the usual vanilla-fruitcuily-gourmand schemes and is a very charming winner. Recommendable.

Faun on lovage
Green spicy, very strong herb, a bit like lovage, with peat and bark and a dash of lemon.
Right from the start dark green like the faun jumping on Debussy's ballet stage.

AugustA likes the pictures of Vaslav Nijinksky in the performance of 1900 (!) choreographed by Sergei Diaghilev. A black and white scent in green, so to speak.

So the faun is now in the scenery. Now what? Does he lie down in the meadow or in the moss of the leafy forest? Or is it seducing the sleeping girl in the clearing, which it is stalking? Is he now attacking a nymph? Everything still seems possible in the first 10 minutes of the fragrance

Yes, that's probably how he smells this faun we know from some paintings, with or without girls, or flute. Earthy, poetically dreamy. Pungent. A real billy goat always smells a bit strong, half of a mythological goat smells even more. It also has to smell green-leafy aromatic. Like leaves that have been lying on the ground for a while, in the forest. And the fresh forest air that sweeps over it. Free nature. Where can you get something like that?

Well, he certainly stimulates fanaticism. Whether more is and remains unclear to me until the end, because of the nicely chosen title or the fragrance itself.
Because at some point, he's just gone. Curtain.

The impression remains:
Billy goat, garnished with lovage. Strange. And that's a good start.

Clementine, not boring!
AugustA thought: Yes, well it will be boring, but try it. Tangerine is not my favourite lemon at the moment - too sticky, too sweet and only tastes good in winter anyway, for exactly one week until I'm sick of it. In fragrances - and it's a popular top note - it gets on my nerves accordingly often, especially when it's not contrasted in an interesting way. I would even go so far as to say that it only goes well with winter scents. With spices and stuff

Now for the clementine. Detergent? No, it just popped into my head from one of those commercials. No soap, no clean air. Fresh, natural

Scent sprayed on, now comes the surprise: Nothing at all. Nothing at all. I knew it would be boring, but it's not what I expected. Watered-down tangerine, where do you get that? I turn away disappointed

But here's the thing: Not a tangerine, but actually clementine. Little by little, then with flavor. No, not the detergent woman, but a seedless, somewhat tart of these little inconspicuous orange fruits and she suddenly pulls my face together and smells of her skin! Totally tangy and fresh, as if she had just been ripped open. Wow! Nice to meet you Mood-lifting!
I didn't expect it to be like this, and all day long I keep getting a whiff of that damn refreshing clementine peel, and it's much, much better than I expected. Thumbs up for the boring clementine!!

Sunny and juicy lemon-flower bergamot
AugustA says: "Now that it's getting warmer again: definitely citrus! So today I take the sample of Bergamote Soleil from Atelier Cologne.

When sprayed on, an Ahhh - as is appropriate for citrus head notes. Then the fragrance soon becomes very juicy, juiciest of all: lemon. Like those big yellow simply deliciously sour lemon candies, which make your mouth water so much that it just won't stop. Kiss. It goes on for at least half an hour. And just when it gets too much, because the candy is slowly sucking away - after all, it's a cologne, not candy - the scent becomes noticeably drier. It slowly changes into the slightly greenish-dry, which is so typical for bergamot, quite different from all other citrus fruits. This is the tone, the fragrance, which is why I always find bergamot so invigorating, so interesting and also a bit elegant. It now becomes delicate and slightly floral (lavender, jasmine?), a touch of freshly washed soap (but the good soap...). At the same time it is still wonderfully refreshing.

This will last for quite a while, depending on the temperature, at today's early summer temperatures around 6-7 hours. So with me no fleeting scent.

In the base it sits down, is a little more grounded, but not very. Actually, you hardly notice it, but I suppose the oak moss hardly noticeably enhances the indicated austere elegance. Just a little. It is and remains an uncomplicated fragrance and - it stays sunny all the time. That's it, no more and no less.
I would want to wear it again at any time, just for the first aha effect and the change to the fine bergamot-like described above.
