Cyberbullying alert!
Attention:
All niche fragrance lovers and mainstream/synthetic haters can stop reading here!
This comment is exclusively for those who can enjoy a simple fragrance.

Since the expectations for comments here are so high, I usually limit myself to writing statements. Since I am not at all able to decompose a scent into its individual parts, to determine scent notes and to describe I prefer to let others, who can do this much better, take the lead.

I'll make an exception here, because I somehow feel the need to break a lance for this scent, because in my eyes it's treated a bit unfair here...that almost borders on cyberbullying *augenzwinker*

Therefore this comment serves mainly the following purposes:
- General appeal to a fair, objective fragrance evaluation.
- To improve the reputation of this fragrance here somewhat.
- Not to let yourself be influenced by scent ratings alone.

Appeal to the objective evaluation of fragrances:
"That's an olfactory impudence!! Outrageous what YSL allows itself to do! Absolutely bold to present us with such a simple synthetic fragrance and possibly expect us to evaluate it fairly and objectively?!! Pahh, I'm giving this fragrance a bad mark now...namely a 0.5...because it definitely doesn't deserve any more!"
This or similar is how I imagine how some ratings came about and how this bad average results (20.04.19: 6,3/10 at 141 ratings).
Let's face it, that's not an objective evaluation, is it?! Just because high expectations were not satisfied does not mean that the fragrance is necessarily bad.
I know that tastes are different and everyone can judge as they like. This scent is nothing extraordinary but certainly not a bad scent.
I am currently observing a similar evaluation behavior with "Office for Men". I haven't tested it yet but even then I can't imagine that it is as bad as it gets away and evaluated here. There, too, either high expectations were not met or were simply judged badly against Jeremy on principle. That, too, is not objective and fair.
It's all about the scent itself and not about the surroundings.
Therefore I think it would be better not to give an evaluation if it is not possible to evaluate objectively.
A misinterpreted rating doesn't do anyone any good.

Description of fragrance:
The fragrance itself naturally joins the ranks of the well-known "blue" fragrances. At first very pleasantly fresh and not at all pungent. Pretty soon the lightly creamy, very discreetly sweet tonka bean paired with the warm amber wood begins. At least I think it's those notes I'm sensing. According to @DonJuanDeCat's pre-commentary, it is probably a synthetic tonka bean. If it really should be like this then I like synthetic tonka beans because I like the drydown (which also shows the complete fragrance process).
In spite of the relationship to the "blue family" I grant him a certain independence because I recognize him immediately from the Sillage someone else. What I have tested with other fragrances I have already tested or probably even own myself sometimes not always succeed.
The fragrance process is very simple and linear which I rather see as an advantage with this fragrance. What is sprayed and perceived in the morning remains exactly the same throughout the day and does not develop into something completely different in the course of the day.
Might sound quite boring to some but it gives you a certain security because you know exactly what to expect from him during the day.

And now we come to his absolute greatest strength and that in my opinion sets him apart from many other "blue" ones and yet makes him something special.
The Sillage is really very good but the durability is with me the absolute madness. It may be due to the synthetics but I perceive it felt infinitely long. In the morning I sprayed it on my hair and clothes and notice it clearly throughout the day, in the evening, while going to bed and in the morning still after getting up. On the clothing of the day before still so clearly that one would hardly have to put on again.
That's exactly what so many people here often want with scents. Here you can have it.

I see the scent in spring/summer. Both casual and, with careful dosage, suitable for office use. Due to the performance he certainly does very well in the nightlife.
There will hardly be anyone who feels disturbed by this fragrance and, contrary to the bad reviews, hardly anyone who finds it really bad.
On the contrary, I can imagine very well that this fragrance can generate a lot of positive resonance in the environment.

Influence of scent evaluation:
I myself have stumbled over him so many times and always left him on the sidelines due to the bad ratings. Everything that here at Parfumo is under the mark 7 usually remains under the radar for me.
I got it as a sample, sniffed it and put it away again...I didn't give him a real chance. Sample has traveled on and sometime I have received it repeatedly as sample and again the same game. I gave the sample to a colleague at work and immediately denied him the opportunity to form his own opinion with reference to the bad evaluations. So I got the sample back from him right away. Thus the sample lay with me in the cupboard and came only again to the revelation as I presented various smells from my fundus to a friend.
Since we left the test strips for several hours and smelled them every now and then, I was surprised to get something out of the drydown.
I then hung it up on me for the first time on the following day and was thus able to deal with the scent over a longer period of time. And what can I say... you can already guess... I guess I got into the
synthetic tonka bean in love :)
...and the outstanding performance has crowned it all.
I wore it for the next two days and found it better every day. He has something special that I really like.
For me, this results in the realization that external circumstances may make a scent get away very badly or very well here. So you should not let it influence you too much and form your own unbiased opinion.

Conclusion:
An independent blue fresh simple clean man with extraordinary performance for casual, leisure, nightlife and office.
Much better than one would expect from the poor ratings.
If, for example, "Coach for men" receives a 7.2 here, then this must be at least higher.
It definitely deserved a chance and I hope that with this comment I have been able to give some of you access to this fragrance.

I hope I didn't bore you too much with my comment...I guess I had to get some off my chest. With a higher valuation of the fragrance I would probably never have felt the urge to write this comment.
Sorry about that ;)

Good as Aventus Clone - very good as an independent fragrance
Every Aventus clone has its peculiarities. Of course also this one.
But if you don't compare apples with pears but more recent fruity batches from Aventus and the current reformulation of CDNI (black spray head) they are (for me) almost exactly the same in the middle part.
The start and the finish are not exactly the same again. But that doesn't matter if you try to consider CDNI as an independent fragrance and don't try to draw a 100% comparison to Aventus.
Because then CDNI is a very good fragrance and considering the price anyway.
Of all the clones I have tested so far (L'Aventure, Vibrant Leather, Supremacy Silver) this one is the best and most pleasant for me even if Aventus is not hit 100% here...the Aventus "Vibe" is still given.

PS: whoever finds the current Aventus Batches too fruity or too unsmoky will not like this interpretation of the fragrance either.
