At the Faber-Castell flagship store!
When I was in Frankfurt with my girlfriend before the Corona crisis, we literally sniffed around in the Faber-Castell store on the Zeil. For those who do not know: Faber-Castell is a stationery manufacturer, from pencils to crayons, etc. - which makes the stationery heart beat faster.
Of course it costs a lot more -> It is one of the premium brands.
Since I assume that everyone has been to a stationery store at some point, you know the smell of fresh wooden pencils, this smell of wood and pencil leads (graphite).

That's right, Silver Mountain Water reminded me of that in the heart note. But not the cheap pens that "linger" in the attic in old boxes after school, for example.
But for high-quality, handmade and exclusive pens - which are expensive. Just like this fragrance.
(Additional info: a pencil box with over 150 pencils was exhibited, in cooperation with Karl Lagerfeld. Luxury case for over 2500€ - luxury at its best)

I only had the association with a lurid mountain stream when I sprayed it on, the freshness and purity it contains.
Exactly this purism of pencil boxes, where each colour of the pencils is arranged exactly. In a row. Order. Cleanliness.
Not the dirty and painted and scratched pencil case, where the pens have a bleak existence.

For me, fragrance is again a realization that scents revive encounters, events and places.
In this case the trip to Frankfurt.

But it does not mean that you smell like a walking luxury pencil when you spray it on!
But luxuriously and nobly beautiful!

Mixing, mixing, incense sticks.
I ordered the fragrance - because I like Aventus and also Tuscan Leather as fragrances very much, and according to comments and reviews it smells like an interplay of these two well-known fragrances.
Said done - finally arrived from UK. Directly looking at the bottle which is standard for Alexandria:
"Leather - Pinnapple - Birch" -> These are probably the main ingredients of this mixture, which are written strikingly on the bottle.

I put a sprayer straight into the room and smelled it.

"WOW - what a fragrance" - Was my first thought and was thrilled.
The fruity pineapple was perfectly balanced with the woody & somewhat scratchy birch. Not a trace of leather. A strong Aventus touch!
The second spray on my wrist immediately brought my association with Aventus back into my head. Very much based on it - but why is Tuscan Leather missing?!
In comparison I also have the "Dupe" by Aventus in the form of Rasasi's "Pour Lui" (Zebra) - which smells a lot more synthetic.

Then 2 sprays behind the ear and off to the acoustic band sample. In the car the scent was in small clouds in my nose - but modified. You notice something sweet, and Ledriges -> Finally Tuscan Leather comes out.
In the background, I gently noticed the scent of the evening and found the interplay of the two notes of fruit and leather very good.
However, a nice anecdote at the end of the evening: Colleague comes closer to say goodbye and asks: "Why does it smell like incense sticks?
My answer is, "I guess I should be."

And yes - this smoky, sweet-woody undertone of the fragrance, which is stronger in the air and in space than the fruit -> Already reminds of the typical incense sticks.
But there are differences.

All in all it is a very good fragrance - high quality and worth the money. Shelf life in good 6-7 hours.
Did I expect more?-> Yes, there is still something missing. Something that makes the fragrance unique. But how is that supposed to work with the two role models...

Pleasing everyday fragrance for a small budget!
Was a blind buy - as the ratings for such a new perfume launched on the market were pretty good.
I also like GUESS very much as a fashion brand (especially the Retro-Line), which is why I dared to try to order it this way.
For 24€/100ML you cannot complain.

The fragrance was very much marked by mint and pepper - which is why it was very intense and pointed in the nose. After this concentrated initial cloud has settled,
the fragrance pyramid came out better. One smells some vetiver like also the ginger - however no molecule of tobacco got into my nose.
There is some similarity to EROS, but the pepper is too strong, so the sweetness of an Eros never really gets through (which some people will like).

The Sillage is OK - but it does not take up space, which is of course a plus point.
In the drydown I like the fragrance the best, because here all the fragrances function very harmoniously and produce a well "stirred" cocktail, which will not touch and please everyone.
Shelf life was 5 hours with me (before I showered). So actually OK - would have given the smell perhaps still so 1-2 hours, before it would be then only completely skin near perceptible.
However, in my opinion the special, the class is missing here, which makes the fragrance appear high quality. According to its "brand" GUESS, the fragrance also ranks among the usual mainstream suspects.
A helper, Burberry, and his ilk could have brought out a scent like that.

My blind buy rating here would be a 7.5/10. price-performance but a 9/10.

The old young Man
I was given the fragrance at the tender age of 18. With deodorant stick! That was 14 years ago. And I still have the scent. Now there are still about 20ml in the bottle (100ML).

The scent blew everyone away at the time it came out. You could smell him everywhere. So strong that the smell is really in everyone's nose, from man to woman. Everyone knows immediately with the smell aroma of apple and cinnamon and the good vanilla that it can be only a smell. Boss Bottled.
Ask people on the street which is the most popular men's fragrance. I'm sure 90% will say Boss Bottled.
From young to old - the fragrance has never disappeared from the picture. Why? Although mainstream is often very ephemeral and dynamic.

It's just the uniqueness. The original. The origin. The source.

It's not the best fragrance - but it's well made and simply stunning in its durability and sillage (Batch 2004-2005).

I rarely use it, which is why I still have it. Cool and dark in the pack, the scent has hardly changed in my nose. But the nose gets older and wants to smell something young from time to time, or have the thought of youth.

Aventus - back or forth?
I was looking for an Aventus-Dupe and besides CDNI from Armaf, and other bands I liked the comments here very much, which is why I ordered the striped flacon without further ado.
I got Aventus as a bottling and I'm totally into this scent DNA. It's perfect for the summer.

Package there, opened, and directly sprayed a sprayer into the room and smelled it.
I have NOT noticed any difference! The same fruity note and the smoky base that makes Aventus stand out.

Unbelievable - and for such a cheap price.

Now 2 sprayers right and left on the neck and off into the city. I was immediately surrounded by the familiar DUFT DNA and was very impressed.
BUT - exactly, that BUT!:

After about an hour I was missing something. The fruity - which has been in the foreground of Aventus for a long time and makes the smoky-woody look very pleasant.
Here it is unfortunately not present for long and the woody-smoky character is very penetrating.

Why "penetrating"?
The fragrance lasts very long - and is always "Sillage" - moderately very intensely perceptible.
In my opinion the fruitiness is missing which makes the fragrance so round.

So the perfect Aventus-Dupe unfortunately also not. Thus then nevertheless a somewhat independent smell which pleases.
