Outside of the very unique bottle, this stuff is horrific. Of all the scents I've ever smelled and reviews I've ever read, this particular polarizing "fragrance" (misnomer) leads me to believe people are full on delusion participating in group think. Honestly, I get a terrible headache whenever I'm anywhere near this stuff. It's like being at a gas station and pumping gas all over yourself. You really want to smell like gas mixed with burnt tires? Perhaps, okay if you're spending a day at the drag races, but I can't think of one legitimate occasion, outside of that, to ever don this stuff on your person. I'm baffled every time I see a positive review of this... Any other fragrance I can see how personal bias comes into play but there is no mistaking this is just awful, awful, awful stuff. It makes me believe that if Bvlgari scraped up dog poop from the sidewalk and liquified and bottled it that it would have legions of fans raving about how fantastic it is. Dollar store cologne is better! Everyone who has ever written a positive review of this stuff PLEASE tell me you did it for grins. PLEASE! I hate this stuff so much I've returned from a multi year hiatus after seeing an email to a link to another review extolling the virtues of this bottled garbage. Thank you, Bvlgari Black for bringing me back, if only for this.

Outside of the bottle, pretty disappointing (pun intended)
The juice inside this great looking bottle was reminiscent of Trussardi L'Uomo and the original Polo of which I'm not a fan. A very perfumey fragrance.
Longevity is very good while sillage and projection is minimal.
Another in an ever growing, at least it's slowed, line of disappointing blind buys.

This individual wants his piece of the pie
I just got this one in the mail, today...
All I keep thinking is...this is a lot like Givenchy Pi mixed with Mont Blanc Individuel. If you like both of those scents, you might find something extra magical about this one.
The initial blast lacks the synthetic cacophony of Pi, and the smell of vanilla is immediately prominent.
A few minutes later, an Individuel vibe crops up that is not quite as sweet as Individuel which is a very good thing.
Perhaps, I wrote my review in earnest because it's only been 10 minutes, but this one is rather pleasant. It's not quite as unwearable for me as Individuel but it tends to the unisexy side. Female fans of Pi are sure to love this one.
Overall, I wish it tended more toward Pi than Individuel but it's a nice step up from Individuel making it something I would actually consider wearing out my front door.

My signature that I'm always trying to replace
My wife is largely responsible for bringing me here. She bought me a 12 cologne sampler from Sephora, for Christmas, and Givenchy Play happened to be in the box with 11 other heavy hitters. The fun thing about the 12 cologne sampler was you got to chose a bottle of the one scent you desired.
I spent a few weeks testing the various samples and decided that I liked Givenchy Play better than Hanae Mori, and YSL L'Homme which were the other two that I was giving strong consideration to.
After choosing Play, I went on a crazy run ordering samples and bottles left and right. I've probably sniffed around 100 things since December and it makes me wonder why people call this one unoriginal? I've smelled nothing like it save for the flankers of the line.
Play Intense is a great scent which is a little more vanillic/caramelic vs. the citrus found in Play.
Why am I trying to replace Play? It's longevity is very disappointing. I bought Play Intense and am much happier with the longevity but I don't quite like the scent as much as regular Play. Play Sport is also semi-interesting but the least attractive of the 3 to me with it's ultra citric content.
I've found that layering Play and Play Intense is nearly perfection for me, but I don't like the idea of having to wear two scents at once.
Finally, I'll never quite understand those who'll pan Play and praise Play Intense. I really don't find that huge of a gap between the two.

The most disappointing scent in my growing collection
This was a blind buy. If only my olfactories were "blind", too.
I've never come to a more opposite conclusion on any scent more than this one.
This is completely linear reeking of Johnson and Johnson's Baby Shampoo. It's absolutely like spraying yourself with baby shampoo. Now, if I'm under 5 this might actually be acceptable but no man should ever smell like this, or woman, either.
The sprayer is unique and interesting...the scent is anything but.
Definitely, try before you buy.
