*THE* choice for hayrides and bonfires!
The other reviewers have truly summed up this perfume to a T. It is very similar to Obsession, but it isn't that spicy and "masculine," though it is still plenty masculine. I never cared for Obsession, but I do like this. It is sweeter and powderier. (Is that a word?! It is now!) I own it in a mini-splash, which I bought about 4 or so months ago online for less than $5. It is still for sale in this size, but I think you will only find larger spray bottles on ebay. I didn't dare wear it in the summer; it would have been overbearing, but this is a nice, warming and cozy scent for fall and winter. The spices definitely lend themselves to these two seasons. I can see myself sitting by a bonfire, sipping apple cider and wearing this perfume. It's the perfect choice for a hayride! It was noted that this is similar to a chai, and that is true, but if you a looking for a spot-on chai fragrance, you must try Curve Crush. That one has a milky aspect to the spices and smells EXACTLY like a chai. I prefer this scent, actually, because it doesn't have the cardamom note like Curve Crush does.

I got a bit alarmed upon initial application: It smelled like vinegar! And the color when I splash it on!!!...I believe Crayola would call it "Raw Umber." Then it quickly dried down into pencil shavings. But I was patient, and soon it became caramel and cinnamon and vanilla with a cedar-y underlying tang. I get none of the florals. At all. It is all sweet and spicy and powdery. Perfect for night-time wear. The caramel and sweetness keep it from becoming overly masculine, but I think some men could still wear this one.

For the price, this was a win, but it's true that I may not pick it often because I feel it is limited to evenings and hayrides, not to daytime wear (except for men).

A lovely and refined tropical blend
I really like this. It is sort of what I expected, but then not. What do I mean by that, you ask?! Well, I expected the scents I am smelling, but I did not expect them to smell so refined and elegant. I did get some tangy bergamot at the very top, but it only lasted for a couple of minutes. It's primarily tiare with the coconut holding it back from becoming too heady--and headache-inducing! In turn, the tiare helps the coconut avoid veering into suntan lotion territory. Vanilla and musk round out the base without reducing the lovely synergy of the tiare-coconut combo. Yes, I am very pleased with this perfume. I just wish I could smell it on me for longer than an hour or two. The longevity is definitely a problem, and for this price, it should perform better.
Thank you to Exciter76 who graciously sent me a decant! What a gal!

Sweet, yet heady
This is very sweet upon initial application. It’s almost like candy floss. The pomegranate gives it some fruitiness, but it is SWEET! Within 5-10 minutes, the tiare comes peeking through and lends it a “dusky” quality. It’s heady and rich and brought me almost to the point of sneezing. The addition of jasmine and orange blossom round it out.

I sprayed this twice on the back of my neck/hair, once to my chest, and once on each arm. That was too much. It is potent juice. It is sickeningly sweet at first, and then the florals are just overpowering. Two sprays to the back of my neck and in my hair would lend a sufficient amount of scent wafting around me for the whole day. The florals stick around for a long time. The drydown is mostly creamy vanilla and not much patchouli (on me).

I like this, but it is better in small doses. I don’t like it as much as the original, but it meets my need for the tiare flower note. It’s got personality, but it’s not a superstar.

An ageless perfume with a modern twist
Kenzo Flower definitely shares some of its DNA with Prince Matchabelli's Wind Song perfume. I haven't smelled that one in a very long time, but it used to be the only perfume my mother ever wore. Every day before she left for work, she would hug me goodbye, and then all day I would smell her on my clothes. Wind Song was potent and tenacious juice! And there is some component in Flower that strongly recalls these memories to my mind. I've tried comparing lists of notes, but I haven't narrowed it down yet. A couple of notes do overlap (mandarin, rose, amber, musk), but they don't stand out to me as possibilities. Mostly because the similar note feels spicy to my nose, in the way that carnation is a bit spicy. But neither perfume lists carnation!

I applied two sprays to the back of my neck/hair, one to my chest, and one on each arm. That was too much. My daughter commented from the stairwell, "Wow! Someone is quite aromatic this morning!" So spray accordingly. This stuff fills a room. It has been wafting around my person all day. It smells really good, but strong. Longevity seems to be about 6-8 hours. It lasts in clothing and hair longer than on skin, but I think that is pretty well true of most perfumes.

The top is a bit sharp, but it does not last long. The violet note dries down very powdery. I feel that the mimosa also renders this quite a bit more sweet-powdery than most people are willing to smell like. It's not quite a baby powder smell--it's a bit more sophisticated than that--but still, if you do not like powdery scents, best to steer clear of this one. I love powdery scents, but this one has a biting note that I can't quite place. I do like it, but it brings me to the very edge of headache territory.

This is an unusual perfume. It brings to mind perfumes from a by-gone era, but also it feels modern. I first smelled it on my husband's cousin in Germany in 2001, I believe it was. It's a very memorable scent because I still remember it today, 16 years later! I feel it is in the same vein as Wind Song (as noted above), Arpege, and L'air du Temps.

Bottle is tall and skinny, so if my perfume tray gets jostled, it wobbles. It seems a bit art deco for this scent. I picture more of a flacon from some time in the 1950's, but overall, it's okay.

Overall, I give it a 6.5. Good, but I likely won't reach for it often. It's probably best for evening wear.

Candied orange yumminess
I was given this little gem by one of my oldest friends, who told me her lungs "wig out" whenever she used it. Soooo...she gifted this almost-full bottle to her grateful perfumista friend!

This is not a super complex perfume; it does not change a lot from bottom to top--in my opinion--but that being said, it's pretty good. It's fresh and fruity at the top and very strong. For the first few hours, it really smells like candied orange, with a bit of ginger thrown in (though ginger isn't in the notes). I don't get a whole lot of the jasmine, honestly. The middle just seems sort of "honeyed" orange. And then it becomes a sweet-ish musk and then it's over. I don't understand how people are likening this to a "patchouli bomb" because I don't get much patch at all out of this one, and believe me when I say that my skin amplifies patch!!! Actually, I'm getting more of the patchouli from my clothes then my skin. Go figure.

The bottle is simple and elegant and has a nice houndstooth checkered bottom, which I see as a thoughtful touch. (Who ever looks at the bottom of a bottle?! Well, besides me.) I don't like the sprayer on this one. It is very focused and squirts a big blast in one little spot. I had to spray it 6 times just to get three sprays on my arm! I prefer sprayers that give off a misty cloud of fragranced goodness, then I walk through it to get the rest!

I applied three sprays to the back of my neck/hair, one spray to my chest/neck, and three sprays out of six actually landed on my arm. Sillage is stronger than average, and just shy of being overwhelming, IMO. Longevity is around 6-ish hours, though I must report that I was expecting longer because of the sillage at the first.

Overall, I give it a 7.5 out of 10. I like it and quite a bit, but it's not quite to my top shelf.
