Wow Wow and again WOW!
So, first of all, the purchase of Guerlain - Shalimar Millésime Vanilla Planifolia was an absolute short-circuit reaction and also a blind buy.

When I already read words like "limited" and read the panicked comments in the forum, where and whether you get the fragrance anywhere at all, all alarm bells go off with me and the mind turns off. If then still the main ingredient of a fragrance should be the divine vanilla, then I just can not help it and must have him!
So it was with Shalimar Millésime Vanilla Planifolia.

2 days ago I could still get hold of a copy at the mail order company I trust and was then emotionally somewhere between: "when does the package finally arrive, I want to tear it open!" and "I'll send him back unopened again".
Because comments like "stale", "granny" etc. made me shudder and anticipation did not really arise. Because let's be honest: As an old-fashioned grandma I now really do not come forward.

But well, today came then eeeeendlich the small package and was immediately unpacked.
First of all, the packaging and the bottle is a real eye-catcher. Luxurious as you would expect from Guerlain.
Millésime Vanilla Planifolia Comes in the usual Shalimar garb therefore.

I would describe the fragrance as a powdery, warm, sensual and wuuuunderschöne vanilla cloud.
Old-fashioned I find nothing here. The normal Shalimar I know only from my mom at the time, but can not smell this one out. When I smelled MVP the first time, I thought, "The scent seems somehow familiar to you". And yes, I know what it reminds me of: namely the American Cream Conditioner from Lush. This is also beautifully vanilla and back then I loved it!

On the skin, MVP unfolds wonderfully and warm. A wonderful cuddly scent, especially for autumn and the coming winter days.

All ladies who are afraid to mutate with Shalimar Millésime Vanilla Planifolia to the old-fashioned granny, I can take herewith I think the fear.

Who loves vanilla, should really test this fragrance!

Noble, dry vanilla
In search of "THE" vanilla fragrance, I ersoukte here some great bottlings of numerous fragrances. No one could but so far really hit me from the stool.

And then came Magnificent Gold: Pure, dry vanilla meets here absolutely portable, white oud. A combination that invites you to dream.

A mad scent progression you look here in vain, however, that is also sometimes not necessary, if a fragrance is simply beautiful.

Magnificent Gold is like a warm, cozy scarf that wraps you up on cold days. It's not too sweet or boozy by any means, rather I would describe the vanilla here as clean and pure, without a lot of tam tam.
I would rate the longevity as medium. A stunning, long-lasting sillage is not given here, however, he holds on clothes and hair very well.

So who is looking for a noble vanilla fragrance without great course, penetrating sweetness and bells and whistles, the Magnificent Gold should aufjedenfall try!

First granny then cuddle factor
In the still very cold spring about a year ago it was so far again and it grabbed me the desire for a new fragrance

What special it should be, something after which one turns on the street. Gladly may my fellow men by an unbeatable Sillage in my spell.

In countless searches on the Internet, I came across the turquoise D on Grand Soir.
The reviews read promising and especially the fragrance pyramid made me curious.
Amber, tonka, vanilla? That can only be a fragrance for me, I thought.

Since I wanted to order me anyway the Holy Grail BR540, Grand Soir was allowed to move in blindly with.

Barely 3 days later I got the message that my package was delivered in the kiosk of my confidence. I could hardly wait until it was finally 4pm and I could call it a day. Off to the kiosk.

Who knows me knows that I am a very impatient person, what packages and orders. So zack purely in the kiosk, package fetched and back in the car. Immediately the package was torn open and came to light the BR540 known to me and: Grand Soir. I was so curious that I opened him still in the car and sprayed me on the wrist.
And then ''..puhh...ehm? What is this? This is supposed to be him, the performance of the 'Grand Soir'?" Smells somehow in the prelude totally stale and after grandma. I really don't want to smell like that and no one will turn around here either. At least not in a positive sense. ''No thanks, it goes back by return mail!''

Since I have from work to home about 1 hr. fahrt, I sniffed again and again on my wrist and the closer I came to home, the more beautiful he developed.
He was getting warmer, more vanilla, yes right to cuddle... Skeptical I was still. The great reviews of the other Duftverrückten I still could not quite understand.

Arrived home were immediately presented to my friend the two new acquisitions. On the other wrist came the BR540. Then he was allowed to sniff. ''So the smells kind of funny, is quite okay, but does not have to be'' All right, so the BR540 could not knock him off his stool. Then came the other arm and now Grand Soir made its grand entrance on the sofa at home: ''Mhhh... wow... I like this one. Keep it, it smells great on you, kinda sexy, biteable''. So the man had made his judgment.

And it was true: in the meantime, GS had developed into a true amber dream on my wrist. Warm and cozy, yet special. The granny was gone and GS moulted from there until today to one of my absolute favorites.

Even today, on a rainy Monday morning in June I wear it and snuggle into my jogger at the home office. Although not a big evening but an absolute feel-good factor - Thank you Grand Soir!

A fragrant encounter in Covent Garden
This is my first review, so bear with me if it's not quite as nicely embellished here as experienced perfumos.... :)

In February 2020, just before Corona was to rule our lives, my fiancé and I were in London together. A few beautiful days in my favourite city it was to be.
A must when visiting London is, among other things, Covent Garden. Here you can eat great and visit small, fine shops. Since my fiancé has never been to London, this was one of our first destinations of our trip.

After dinner, we strolled through the Great Hall, past the many beautiful little boutiques and shops. And then:
''..Wait a minute....what was that...?'' A beautiful, indefinable, almost magical scent rose to our noses. ''What was that?" we looked around and stood in front of a small perfumery. The scent wouldn't let me go and I would have loved to look around the little shop and search for THE perfume, however, the little shop was so crowded that I quickly put the thought aside and we moved on.
But beautiful it was, the indefinable fragrance..

A few days later, towards the end of our trip, we were out and about on Regent Street. A bit of shopping and strolling past the shops...what could be better?
And suddenly, there it was again: THE fragrance! Right in front of us, this scent was emitted by means of a fine pipe from the shop onto the street. Which shop? Penhaligon's London!
Penhaligons? Never heard of it before.

The store was almost completely empty, so we went in and immediately asked a lovely staff member what that fragrance was, which lured you into the store out there as if hypnotized!?
She showed us the little seducer and there it was: Halfeti.
We sprayed us the fragrance on and immediately rose this incomparable fragrance in the nose. A bit what herbes - Was that about Oud? - A bit of rose, but also something soft, vanilliges joined. Simply a beautiful fragrance.
With a price of over 200 Pound/Euro but not quite cheap, but definitely worth its price!
Nevertheless, we decided initially against a purchase, but received from the dear employee a silk cloth, on which Halfeti as a souvenir again generously perpetuate Durfte.

Also weeks after our journey, was smelled again and again at said silk cloth and we revelled in memory of the beautiful London. ''Man darling, this scent is soo special and just out of this world, isn't it?" how right he is.

When my fiancé had then in September birthday, I knew quite quickly what it should be: In addition to a beautiful hoodie, he was allowed to enjoy his own, 100 ml Halfeti.
Only him? No - I wear the fragrance also insanely happy. Successful win-win situation I would say, or?

London, oh London, when we wear Halfeti, you're suddenly close again..
